Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 Review

GIGABYTE motherboards feature higher capability audio solution with 108dB Signal-to-Noise ratio (SNR) playback quality to deliver high-performance, multi-channel HD audio. SNR is a comparison of the amount of signal to the amount of noise such as hiss present in the signal (expressed in Decibels). A higher SNR equals a better audio experience. For example, 108dB, is a high audio specification, as this means the audio signal is 108dB higher than the level of the noise.

You can find info on the gygabite website for cpu and ram. First find your CPU in the provided CPU support list, and see what version of bios you require. If it shows N/A your CPU is not supported.

Im not sure about the later 990x mainboards needing a bios update as they would have come with the update from the factory but mine certainly needed a bios update to support the fx-6300

No, Johanatanrules is not right, 990x socket is compatible with all vishera CPUs so nor 63xx and nor 83xx would require a bios flash in order to run properly

My friend, I'm building custom PC's for over a decade, and I am living from it. There was some problems in the early stages of 990x chipset, but it's been a while from that, and I can assure you that now there is no brand new 990x board that will require a BIOS flash
