Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag might have only just arrived this week, but hot on its tail comes the upgraded port of Assassin's Creed Liberation. Originally released last year for Playstation Vita, the HD remake is hitting PC in January, and looks to put you in the boots of a female assassin during the events of Assassin's Creed III.
Despite being ported from a handheld the game has been given a significant facelift, so it's not necessarily cut and dried whether your rig will be able to handle all of Assassin's Creed Liberation HD's graphical settings. Let's take a look at the official Assassin's Creed Liberation HD system requirements...
Assassin's Creed Liberation HD Minimum System Requirements
OS: 32 or 64-bit editions of Windows 7, Windows 8, or Vista
CPU: Intel Core i3 2105 clocked at 3.1 GHz or an AMD Phenom 2 X4 955 clocked at 3.2GHz
RAM: 2GB system memory
HD: 3.5GB of free hard disk space
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT or AMD Radeon HD4870 and above
DX: Direct X Compatible Sound Card
Assassin's Creed Liberation HD Recommended System Requirements
OS: 32 or 64-bit editions of Windows 7, Windows 8, or Vista
CPU: Intel Core i5 2400S clocked at 2.5 GHz or AMD FX 4100 clocked at 3.6 GHz or better
RAM: 4GB system memory
HD: 3.5GB of free hard disk space
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 or AMD Radeon HD7870 or better
Hmmm. While the GPU requirements on minimum might not quite be as demanding as Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, necessitating the classic Nvidia GeForce 880GT rather than the GTX 260, the recommended requirements are actually a notch up, requiring a hefty Nvidia GTX 570 or a Radeon HD7870 or better. The processor requirements seem to be fairly steep for what is in essence a Playstation Vita game; an Intel Core i3 processor clocked at 3.1 GHz as a minimum suggests this might be fairly taxing on older rigs.
Luckily the memory requirements are kept moderately low, matching the previous outing's 4GB for recommended settings. As well as this the game only needs a tiny 3.5GB HDD space, the smallest we've seen yet for an Assassin's Creed outing on PC.
What do you make of the system requirements?
Will you be picking this title or is there no going back after the incredible Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag?

pretty heavy for a handheld-ported game.
PC Specs
will probably be badly optimized too..
PC Specs
let's hope not..
PC Specs
Still a 4870 waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
PC Specs
Whack storyline
PC Specs
Lol Really 3.5 gb of hardisk space ? :D
PC Specs
After the bull the producer said a while back, why should I or anyone for that matter give a about this game? -__- I bet its gonna be just as badly optimized as Black Flag. In fact, after that BS? For Ubisofts sake I hope it's even worse off. EA may be bad but hell at least they aren't stupid when it comes to game optimization.
PC Specs
Might be the fact that you use a 430? :/
PC Specs
You obviously don't get it. But it doesn't matter now, Ubisoft clarified the issue.
PC Specs
I gotta say, the HD remake looks amazing next to the Vita game, but then of course, that should be expected.
PC Specs
Can you get more obvious money whoring than this?
PC Specs
Looks at EA
PC Specs
ROFL
PC Specs
I dont understand. In the requirments in this article recomended is HD 7870 and when I click the game it says 6670.One more thing. In the text it says "While the GPU requirements might not quite be as demanding as Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag".Judging by the comparison between requirments written in the text(gtx 570 or 7870) these requirments are higher than AC4's which are 5850 or GTA 470.
PC Specs
Yeah I noticed this, its gotta be wrong because there is no way that this can be more demanding then Black Flag especially with it being a handheld remake.
PC Specs
It is being made using the same engine used for AC 4, so it will be as demanding
PC Specs
No, not as demanding but as unoptimized as AC 4 XD
PC Specs
Believe it or not, the game looks awesome.
COD Ghosts is the unoptimised game of the year as it lacks visuals and is yet one of the most demanding of the year. AC 4 makes up for the hardware demands in graphics
PC Specs
Wrong. Coz I always monitor my precision X stats when I play AC 4 and when FPS dips very low GPU usage dips like it fallen off a cliff. No matter how visually stunning a game is if it doesn't use the full potential of my GPU. It's garbage
PC Specs
It must depend alot of the Windows config and other stuff man
For me it mostly uses 95%+ GPU power at all times according to Afterburner
PC Specs
These are correct Cistamlaka, it's just a case that the GD requirements haven't been updated yet, I'll get to it now. Fair point on the gtx 570, I was mainly looking at the minimum requirements but it does seem like quite a leap for the recommended. I didn't realise it would be using the AC4 engine though, I presumed it would be an up-ressed Vita game but I'm glad of it!
PC Specs
is this a expansion pack ???
PC Specs
Nope. It's HD port from PS Vita.
PC Specs
HDD space 3.5 gb. This is going to be a quick adventure, gentlemen!
PC Specs
Small space requirement = short game? It doesn't really work like that :D
PC Specs
Baldur's Gate needs about 2 gigs, it's supposedly about 250 hours long.
PC Specs
maybe the textures are very low-res..usually they are things that use up most HDD space.
PC Specs
but that doesn't makes sense considering the recommended requirements..
PC Specs
yeah the reqs are pretty huge..lets see then we will know once game launches..
PC Specs
Yeah the only thing we can do now is wait and see ;)
PC Specs
What is the campaign length on Vita? Maybe its just 3-4 hours, so it is more like an expansion pack
PC Specs
3-4 hours??? i hope they don't charge like $50 for a game if it turns out to be that small.
PC Specs
it takes about 10-15 hours to finish in vita.. including the side quest though
PC Specs
Can I run it, please?
PC Specs
Yep, albeit probably not maxed out but you can certainly run it.
PC Specs
can i run it ?
PC Specs
well dual cores are not known to run these games without trouble
PC Specs
I didn't even know this game existed....
PC Specs
Glad I am not the only one.
PC Specs
i can play AC4 whithout problem most of the game 30+ fps even on high details, but i dont see any diference between high and low seriosly :)),and i can run this game aswell for sure
PC Specs
Oh really? Great! That means I should be able to max it at 60 or over :)
PC Specs
Dat rig.. looks suspiciously fake.. If that IS your rig.. then I suggest you verify
PC Specs
Why would it not be his real rig? Look at mine...
PC Specs
Yours is verified. His is not.
PC Specs
u think with this pc i will lie u?omg then i dont have words for u.i play this game and thats it.if u dont like that i help people maybe u should shut up...
PC Specs
.. I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to TheDepressedTurtle..
PC Specs
Its not even a full game like real PC games..
PC Specs
I can run ACIV max with 40fps but i think it's bad optimization. Can i run this one too??
PC Specs
lol we have the same rig :P
PC Specs
Lol
PC Specs
I wish i can run this:(
PC Specs
Your CPU is no pushover... It can take GPUs up to a GTX 650 ti or HD 7770 no problem... Then you may be able to do some modern gaming...
PC Specs
Thanks:)

PC Specs
Even if they are horribly optimized and with clumsy controls...?
