Telltale Games has been pretty busy this month. As well as working on two popular series - The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead - it has been rumoured this week that Telltale is working on a title based on George R. R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire franchise popularised by the Game of Thrones television series. But Telltale have also found time in their busy schedule to release the System Requirements for the second season of The Walking Dead, which is due to release in December this year.

We take a closer look at The Walking Dead Season 2 official System Requirements below...

Season 2 Will Focus On Clementine

The Walking Dead Season 2 Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3

CPU: Core 2 Duo clocked at 2GHz or equivalent

RAM: 3GB

HD: 2GB available

GPU: AMD or NVidia card with minimum 512 MB RAM

DX: 9.0c

The Walking Dead Season 2 Recommended System Requirements

OS: Windows 7

CPU: Core 2 Duo clocked at 2.3Ghz or equivalent

RAM: 4GB

HD: 2GB available

GPU: AMD or NVidia card with 1024 MB RAM

So, fairly predictably, the requirements for Season 2 are identical to that of The Walking Dead Season 1, meaning anyone who enjoyed Season 1 of The Walking Dead should have no issue playing the next instalment. As we might expect from this kind of indie point and click, the requirements are pretty manageable, and anything as powerful than a mid-range gaming laptop or above should find this a walk in the park to run.

However, Telltale’s most recent title The Wolf Among Us also had the same minimum requirements, and we reported on its launch back in October that the game occasionally struggled with lagging and low frame rates, particularly in faster paced moments. The Walking Dead Season 2 is, like Telltale’s other games, a point-and-click adventure game, and arguably the slower pace of this genre means that FPS rate is not quite as crucial as a shooter or racing game. However, immersion is crucial in the kind of story-heavy game Telltale specialises in, and jumpy frame rate can really distract from this, particularly if it comes at a climactic moment in the narrative. We'll have to wait a few weeks to see whether The Walking Dead Season 2 is more consistent.

You can tell us your FPS rate for The Walking Dead Season 2 once it launches in December 2013 on our The Walking Dead Season 2 ratings page. Thanks to stitch123 for bringing these requirements to our attention.

What do you think of these requirements, and will you be picking up a copy of The Walking Dead Season 2?
