In case anyone was still under the misguided impression that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt isn’t going to  look astoundingly beautiful, CD Projekt Red used last night’s VGX awards to reveal a new short trailer providing more evidence to the contrary.

Unfortunately, fans were treated only to a mere minute of insight into the upcoming RPG, but The Witcher 3 is looking exciting nonetheless…

The trailer starts with a rather foreboding and dramatic voice-over before revealing some truly spectacular shots of The Witcher 3’s open world environments, as well as a few brief snatches of combat and some footage of Geralt riding a horse. Those of us who were hoping for some brief snatches of information regarding release dates were disappointed, however; the release window remains a rather vague “2014”.

The next-gen graphics, whilst they look stunning, also look like they might boast some fairly hefty system requirements to play the title on PC, which could be an incentive to start saving for a new rig...

You can check out the new trailer footage below to whet your appetite for The Witcher 3.
