The Lego Movie Videogame - probably the most convoluted title in game history - has received a new trailer in anticipation of its release early next year.

The trailer shows some of the game's multitude of playable characters, as well as demonstrating The Lego Movie Videogame's building mechanic and showing a little of the characteristically witty script...

The latest game in the Lego series is a little different. Breaking from the traditional plots of Lego games, which tend to (at least loosely) follow the plots of the franchises upon which they are based, The Lego Movie Videogame follows instead an ordinary Lego minifigure named Emmet, who is mistakenly identified as "The Special"; a character prophesied to save the world from an evil Lego tyrant.

You can check out the trailer for yourself below.

As we've come to expect from Lego games by now, the title will release on pretty much every platform, ever. That includes PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, Wii U and 3DS. There's no exact release date yet, but according to publishers Warner Bros, we can expect the game in February 2014.

What do you think of this new trailer? Does this appeal to you, or are you tired of Lego games?

Tell us what you think in the discussion area.

I played so much with Lego when I was a kid and you would not believe the stuff I put together... Other than Lego fandom, Batman, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman are reason enough for me to watch this film... This is literally a childhood dream come true for me...
