Battlefield 4 May Have A Hidden Megalodon Easter Egg On Paracel Storm

A hidden Premium assignment has been discovered in Battlefield 4 that seems have a bit more substance to it than originally thought.

The Phantom Prospect assignment arrived with the China Rising expansion pack, hidden away at the bottom of the Leaderboards page on the Battlelog. Clicking on the faded image of a skull will bring up a command prompt asking for a password, which when inserted reveals the secret assignment…

Putting in the password ‘bumpinthenight’ gives you the result “Assignment unlocked. Unlock phase completed. Welcome to the Phantom Program… Stand by for further instructions.” This password was cracked by discovering 14 braille statues in China Rising, with each number corresponding to a letter in the alphabet, the anagram of which spelled out ‘bumpinthenight’.

Having a quick saunter over to the Assignment page on the Battlelog reveals what you’ll have to do to unlock it, requiring you to to be a premium player, score 200 kills with assault rifles, 200 kills with main battle tanks and get a 300 meter headshot.

Completing this assignment will give you a snazzy new dog tag, but is this the whole story?

Now bear with us here as this is where it gets even more convoluted. Phantom Prospect seems to have very little to do with Battlefield 4, so a quick online search reveals a book called Phantom Prospect on Amazon, about the hunt for a legendary warship called Fantome that wrecks off the coast of Nova Scotia. Some unfortunate divers looking for it encounter a thought-to-be extinct shark, known as the Megalodon.

Back when Battlefield 4 launch DICE collaborated with the Machinima group Battlefield Friends to create an episode about a Megalodon being in the water of the Paracel Storm map, which contains several shipwrecks.

On October 30th, Aleksander Grøndal, multiplayer producer at DICE, revealed that there is a massive secret in Battlefield 4 that few people know how to trigger. No one seems to have made it trigger yet, but it’s believed that the secret is indeed a massive Megalodon on the Paracel Storm map, a terrifying prospect surely.

What do you reckon, do you think there is a Megalodon hidden in Battlefield 4?

Any ideas on how to find it?

this is actually quite interesting. If it has anything to do with the Phantom Project, which requires premium, and you would need premium to access said secret, it's very stupid. I do like the fact they're hiding easter eggs in these games though, makes them more interesting to someone like myself.
