A new Dying Light trailer highlights the dynamically shifting gameplay seen in Metroland’s upcoming title, as the shift from day to night presents a whole new set of challenges as the zombie-hordes capitalise on your failing vision and increasing paranoia.

Dying Light’s parkour-based gameplay lends itself well to zombie-survival, but as the light ebbs from the sky the previously lurching brain-hungry masses become much more aggressive and, more importantly, far more agile…

If the thought of running away from overwhelming odds for twenty hours solid then this probably isn’t you, but the tension on display towards the end of this trailer is palpable. The Mirror’s Edge meets Resident Evil

We got a hands on with this back in September, and the zombie-slaying skills at your disposal look top-notch, although it’s difficult to tell whether a true sandbox structure will emerge from the creators of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide.

Okay, this might be Zombie Game No. 87932 but it still looks like a mighty entertaining adventure. It's easy to imagine a game being made in the near future where the zombie hordes are replaced by the countless zombie games, lurching towards televisions and monitors across the globe.

Here's the trailer for you to wrap your eyes around...

Dying Light is expected to arrive sometime next year for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Like what you see?

Have you had enough of the zombie games?

Actually, this is quite possible in real life. Why the 'now', as if this is a problem of modern game design, though? The earliest game I can remember having such a 'jump kick' feature is F.E.A.R. which was released in 2005. So, 'now' is 8 years ago, I guess? and it's been in games before that, I'm sure. Also, how is adding hand-to-hand combat moves to fps games a bad thing (even though they are flashy)? Do you hate choice? Or combat? Your comment confuses me.

Alright I'll say that Dead Island was like a beta in my eyes for this game. :D

I like it because the environment reacts on what you do. This is one of the first modern games that has this. It's not going somewhere to trigger something, it comes automatically.
Also, you can't just fight like in dead rising series, it's distract and run (like you should do in real life if that would happen)

Yea, I like games that pose a real challenge. Like if this had a set difficulty, it would be perfect to me. Id rather have a real challenge of surviving than just a story.

the light died indeed in this mission it seems :P. i really like the gameplay. you dont just kill every zombie in you way, you mostly distract and outrun them. very interesting. i would like a more realistic animation when hitting the zombie with the wrench though. but it doesnt matter that much.

This is exactly what I've been looking for in a zombies game for all platforms!

Zombies have been around forever but they've really latched on in the past 10 years and, unlike some other trends, the zombie trend just keeps getting stronger.
What is it about zombies that has captured, and held, everyone's imagination in recent years?

"What is it about zombies that has captured, and held, everyone's imagination in recent years?" The possibility that a zombie outbreak could become a reality.

I think what captivates people the most is the fight for survival. You know, returning to our roots. This mindset just goes with modern society. And it may very well be shooting humans in the head without remorse.

Look's alright. Is this what to expect from Techland from now on then? Zombies. Not a bad thing... if done right.
