Just as rabid fans were getting ready to huff and puff and blow Telltale’s house down, the episodic games publisher has finally announced a release date for the second instalment of The Wolf Among Us.
The second episode of the Fable’s spin-off is called Smoke and Mirrors and is set to launch in the first week of February, a full four months after the game’s first episode in October…
Telltale co-found Kevin Bruner made the announcement in the developer’s very own forum, not specifying in which order it will hit platforms, but that Telltale is working with “Xbox, Playstation, Steam and Apple” to coordinate the launch.
It’s been quite some time since the first episode, Faith, was released. Since then we've had the announcement and start of a brand new season of The Walking Dead, and the ignominy of various sales and discounts to The Wolf Among Us season pass that has left early adopters feeling a little stung.
The Steam sale in particular back in December struck the entire season down to nearly half price, while fans who’d stumped up originally were already two and a half months into the wait for the second episode.
Bruner said of the situation; "We are very concerned about the long delay for this episode, but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays). I won't dive into the details, but it's been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season."
If you haven’t picked up the season pass yet be sure to check out Katie’s review of the first episode, Faith.
