FlatOut developer Bugbear Entertainment’s next car game, erm…. Next Car Game is now available via Steam Early Access after the team unsuccessfully attempted to get it Kickstarted.

It’s clear from the off that the team at Bugbear know a thing or two about realistic damage physics, with the true-to-life damage system allowing cars to crumple in exacting detail, all in real-time…

To Destruction Derby what Virtua Tennis is to Pong, Next Car Game looks to provide smash-em-up racing taken to the next level. The game garnered just $81,772 of its $350,000 Kickstarter target but there’s no denying it looks the part with its spectacular destruction engine.

The Early Access version of course comes with a caveat when it comes to the quality of the product, with Bugbear issuing a warning:

“Early access phase is meant to give you a chance to experience the game as it progresses through its development cycle, and the game is still at an early stage.

"As such, it does contain missing features and nasty bugs. Developing the game together with the players gives us a lot more creative freedom, and you get to communicate with the development team to make sure we're making the all-out racing game that you want."

Here's a trailer to feast your eyes on...

Next Car Game is available now on Steam Early Access for £18.99/$24.99.

Willing to fork out £20 for what looks to be the second coming of Destruction Derby?

What do you think of the game's destruction engine?

Let us know!

This was a nobrainer, instantly bought it when it appeared on steam. Played a few races, 24 car races can be really intense :p
Cars are flying everywhere. What I found out, is that there is little to no place for a mistake. If you make a big one, the race is lost.
I kinda missed the nitro from flatout games.

old FlatOut series are legendary, we'll see what Bubear brings this time, latest FlatOut games were really bad (well not that bad, but nothing new at all), hope they do well this time :Đ

This image was obviously in no doubt captured by an Nvidia GPU.

Not really. The developers of this game are the same ones who developed Flatout, which was a similar game to this except obviously with less realism since it came out 10 years ago. While the popularity of BeamNG might've made them go ahead with it now, they probably would've done it anyway at some point, due the fact they can with the current technology.

that's all soft physics, even I, with Underground 3 racing game project, using soft physics deformation, CryEngine SDK :)

BeamNG is group of few people who decided to make vehicle simulator with soft body physics, using CryEngine, but then they went for Torque3D engine;
Bugbear have been making demolition-derby styled racing arcades for about 10 years if I remember well :Đ
