SOE are being typically cagey about when Everquest Next Landmark and Everquest Next are going to arrive, but the Everquest Next Landmark Alpha Test is expected pretty soon. These system requirements are specific to Everquest Next Landmark but we're expecting these system requirements to also apply to Everquest Next when it too arrives.
Everquest Next Landmark is set to occupy a unique niche in the MMO world when it launches, allowing you to craft your own landscapes and architecture, staking your own personal claim on the world. With that in mind we were expecting some fairly hefty Everquest Next Landmark system requirements, but SOE is hoping that some optimisations can help trim these down ahead of a full retail release...

Everquest Next Landmark Recommended System Requirements

There's a few eye-openers here when it comes to system requirements, not least the considerable requirements for RAM, with 4GB memory a minimum requirement for Everquest Next Landmark. You're going to be wanting 8GB though if you want this game chugging along at its finest.
As well as this there's the unusually high internet connection requirement. Most MMORPGs have traditionally been fairly undemanding when it comes to connection speed, but the instantly customisable world and lack of instanced areas looks to mean like this is going to be limited to the Ferraris of the internet connection world.
It's worth bearing in mind that SOE are hoping to bring these down somewhat as we get nearer to release, but these initial specs indicate that Everquest Next Landmark will be one of the most demanding MMORPG system requirements yet.
What do you make of these system requirements?

What is it with all these stupid as hell system requirements lately...? Do none of these game devs have hardware nuts among their ranks...? You would think game devs know a thing or two about this stuff...
PC Specs
I see that this game doesn't have some ultra realistic graphics that need such high reqs.
I think the reqs could be WAY lower.

Those "minimum" requirements are probably enough to play this game on high-max...

That internet connection isn't happening. I can OC to meet the rest.

Mmm..The specs are heavy
