Stunning New Batch Of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Screens

A trio of new The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt screenshots showcase some lovely battle-strewn environments. For those who like their vistas with a smattering of griminess and a hint of pestilence, this could be the perfect tonic.

When Geralt’s not busy helping old ladies across the road it looks like he can be found breaking up alleyway muggings like a medieval Batman, or clip-clopping his way through the scenes of devastation on a battlefield, amid butchered corpses…

Whatever he’s doing, it’s always looking absolutely beautiful, the level of detail looks to be enough to make a grown graphics card weep...

Still no official confirmation on a release date for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but we have a sneaky suspicion it's not too far off. It's set to arrive for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.

When do you think The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will arrive?

Is your PC ready for it?

Let us know!

Not all nudity is porn, but whatevs. It's a mature game, if you don't like it then don't play it. Just stay the f**k away from awesome games and go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Seriously? I bet you think Game of Thrones is porn too.

Just look up a movie on Netflix called 9 Songs. It's available to stream and it's actually got "unsimulated sex" in it. What that means is that it's the actors and actresses having real sex in a non porn movie. Shia Labeouf was going to be doing the same thing in one of his movies, before he retired. Crazy ****.

No, they are not rated porn. If any scene in a TV show where rated as porn then the whole show would be rated as porn. There is nothing in Game of Thrones that hasn't been done in rated R movies. Full frontal, both male and female, is found in rated R movies.

Rated R movies can be played in movie theaters that porn can not be played in. If any of the scenes were quantified as porn then Game of Thrones would receive an NC-17 rating, at the least, and you would not be able to buy it at places like Best Buy or Walmart. Period, end of story.

But that line of reasoning is exactly why video games aren't taken seriously as an entertainment or educational medium by the general media, despite the fact that average age of the American gamer is thirty years old.

Wrong again. According to the rating on Amazon.co.uk it's got an 18 rating. According the BBFC rated 18 films can have nudity, explicit sex references, detailed sexual activity and even strong REAL sex (if justified by context). For instance, 9 Songs contains real sex between actors and actresses and is rated 18.

No it's not. 18 rating in UK is pretty much the same as being rated R in America. R18 is can't be sold out side of adult stores in the UK, much like NC17 rated items aren't carried by the vast majority of American retailers.

For me it was part completionist and part of just following down those paths, those choices that had to be made to get to them. Geralt is a complicated guy and it's pretty obvious that he's capable of separating physical pleasure from love.

In a world where, despite needing them, Witchers are still hated and persecuted by man. I think it's important to see that Geralt can, and often does, take pleasure wherever and whenever he can do so. Anyone that simply sees those scenes as sex scenes is either pretty immature or stupid, or both.

well PC will ofc have better graphics than PS4 and X1 so you cannot compare it to them and u will most like run it on high for smooth fps..cant say for sure as the game has not yet released but i believe max is out of question..as 770 cannot max crysis 3 or metro LL let alone this.

besides i think witcher 3 will be less demanding than crysis 3 , because it is third person, so you don't have all these detailed textures in rocks for example, because you wouldn't be able to se them, and in crysis 3 you would because it is a fps

Let me quote this here:
'It's set to arrive for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.'
New gen consoles utilize 8 cores, so it's very very likely that the PC version will too be optimized to use 8 cores :)
In fact, it's very wise to buy an 8 core CPU now, it really makes sense to do so (:
4 strong cores should still be enough for some time though, but perhaps not all so well for max settings.

You can dream about games using all 8 cores. Modern games can't even properly utilize all 4 cores of a quad core even though quad cores has been in the market for many years now.

even AC:3 used all 8 threads on my lappy, so you're saying nonsense;
ofc not all games utilize 8 cores, but the so called "next-gen" consoles already have 8 slower cores to process more things at once, so it's obvious we may expect better performance on 8-core cpu desktops as well;
btw "properly utilize" doesn't mean all the cores should run at 90%, and even on my previous i3, most games were using all 4 threads :)

"properly." Because even though the game uses all cores, you gain little to no FPS at all than when you're using a dual core. A game doesn't need to use all cores to 90% to call it "proper usage." But it should at least give you big

performance gain when you're upgrading to a cpu with more cores than the one you had. The only thing that's giving us more FPS when we upgrade to a newer CPU now is raw power and not because we have more cores than before.

SLI doesn't sum up gfx card memory capacity, so 2GB+2GB is still 2GB, and therefore 3GB or 4GB cards are better pick for such purpose (again, I don't need it, I'd rather buy new card - or even whole new rig, and sell the current one - after few years :Đ

Yeah, the VRAM is mirrored in multi GFX setups :)
Still, I don't quite see how 2gb would be a problem for 1440p :P
Aatir, you're overrating 1440p a bit, man :) Check this out, those reviewed are 2gb cards. OFC it is not 100% more fps in SLI, but still noticably more. At 1440p in Crysis3 it's 90% more fps, in Metro 2033 around 60% more fps and in Bioshock Infinte 75% more fps. And those all have rather high res textures. Considering that a 75 percent or more performance increase in SLI/CF is acceptable, it all seems good to me for 1440p :)

I see large amounts of VRAM used on my setup with a single card at 1200p. So I can see why 1440p needs more VRAM.

Aww, Geralt's just a big softie now. In the old days, he'd haggle about his fee with the mugging victim before even drawing his sword.

I bet with that resolution you could run the Witcher III on low with 35-40fps...if it's optimized well..
