The final part of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow trilogy is set to descend on us in a matter of weeks, allowing gamers to finally take control of the blood-sucking menace himself, Dracula.

Weakened and searching for a release from immortality, Dracula must try to reclaim his powers in order to take down an even greater evil, Satan himself. A bold claim, but just how bold are the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 recommended requirements...

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows XP 32-bit

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Athlon X2 2.8 GHz

RAM: 2GB System Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB or AMD Radeon HD 4770

GPU RAM: 512 MB VRAM

DX: DirectX 9.0c

HDD: 10GB available hard drive space

Control: Keyboard and mouse

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Recommended System Requirements

OS: Windows 7 32-bit Edition and upwards

CPU: 2.4 GHz Core 2 Quad Q6600 or 2.6GHz AMD Athlon II X4 620

RAM: 2 GB System Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 1GB or AMD Radeon HD 6570 1GB

GPU RAM: 1024 MB VRAM

HD: 10GB hard drive space

Control: Gamepad recommended

Fans of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow are in luck, for if you were capable of running Castlevania: Lords of Shadow you're almost definitely going to be able to run its sequel. Running off of the same engine as its predecessor, Lords of Shadow 2 minimum requirements are by now pretty undemanding. The stalwart that is the GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB is all that's needed to get the game up and running. Nothing in the Lords of Shadow 2 minimum system requirements stands out as particularly demanding, even requiring 5GB less hard drive space than the original Lords of Shadow.

The step up to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2's recommended system requirements mean that you're going to be a quad-core processor to get it running at its best, as well as a GPU with at least 1GB of VRAM. The memory required stays extremely low though, requiring just 2GB of RAM for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 recommended settings.

It being an action game, requiring rapid reflexes, you're obviously going to want a high FPS in Lords of Shadow 2. Those of you not quite hitting the recommended system settings are going to probably find it better to drop the graphical settings a notch in order to get a smoother experience.

Interestingly a key difference between the minimum and recommended Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is the suggestion that a keyboard and mouse are the minimum requirements while a gamepad is recommended. Being designed primarily for consoles means that this may be one of those rare games that is going to play better sporting an Xbox gamepad.

In the meantime be sure to check out our Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 page to see how your rig can run Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 system requirements.

Cheers Vardhan for the heads up!

What do you make of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 requirements?

Will you be hopping in for the third of final part of the Lords of Shadow trilogy?

WAIT Wait wait....HD6570 is better than HD4770 and equal to GTS250???; maybe it's the HD6750, is not it?. HD6570 is a little better than an APU`s IGP (5800K or 6800K). :s

The demo was extremely enjoyable aside from tutorial antics, like LoS1. There's even an option to disable QTEs. Best of all being Dracul has a powerful feel.

disable QTEs? best...option..ever :D I hate the QTEs in LoS 1, especially since my FPS does drop on occasion during QTE stuff.

oooh...sweet. I can run LoS 1 just fine, no vsync, no AA, shadows low, without issue. I know that's due to good optimization, but I see this being the same case as CnC 3 and 4, 4's based off of the 3 engine, so I can run 4 fine even though I don't meet the requirements. I don't meet either LoS game's requirements, but I have hope :D

yosh very nice. i cant wait to play it. when i was playing lords of shadow 1 at first i was using the keyboard. the game wasnt played with mouse and this was so diffcult for me. i wasnt used at all to this keyboard only control system. then i got an F710 logitech controller and the game was so much easier to play. loved it. i think i will stick with the controller in game 2 as well.
