Us mere mortals have been lucky enough to have a new Dragon Age: Inquisition trailer summoned to us courtesy of Bioware producer Cameron Lee.
The new Dragon Age III: Inquisition trailer shows off the stunning looking Frostbite 3-powered wild lands of Thedas that we’ll be exploring later this year, with each area containing its own wildlife and unique ecosystem, no doubt eager to tear your puny warrior limb from limb…
One of the biggest distinctions with Dragon Age 3 from its predecessors is a move to a more open-world, which promises to be both vast and complex. Lee wrote in his blog post that the team at Bioware “accomplished this by using the Frostbite engine, which supports massive areas, destruction, and the most advanced next-gen technology we’ve ever seen.”
Dragon Age: Inquisition stands out because it’s set to be Bioware’s first next-gen game, meaning that the boundaries of the RPG gameplay are to be pushed further than we’ve seen before, thanks to shedding the limitations of the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. “Nowhere is this more visible than in the incredible size and diversity of locations, life, and hidden places you’ll discover on your journey,” Lee continued. “Each area in the video has its own realistic ecosystem with predators, prey, factions, and opportunities to expand your Inquisition. The world’s population is based on an emergent system that adjusts what you’ll encounter based on how your actions tip the balance in the area. You’ll see towns attacked by bandits, deer fleeing from wolves, giant’s feeding on bears, and countless other scenarios.”
Anyway, enough of what Cameron Lee thinks, you can see it all for yourself in the trailer below...
