It’s all happened a bit quietly and without the usual fanfare accompanying a Blizzard launch, but Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft has been officially released.

When World of Warcraft originally launched it felt like Blizzard was one step short of projecting Azeroth onto the surface of the moon, but its new online collectible card game has crept out of beta and is launching an almighty attack on gamers’ free time…

Despite looking deceptively simple on the surface, Hearthstone’s addictive online card battles hold a towering stack of depth. Comprising nearly every aspect of Warcraft lore, Hearthstone’s cards range from the ferocious Hogger, to the Millhouse Manastorm and the wise old panda Lorewalker Cho.

Expect much merriment, card-slinging and mirth, combined with that dangerously addictive secret ingredient that Blizzard seems to put a good sprinkle of into its games, leaving gamers ravaging for more like freegans at store closing time.

One thing's for sure, if Blizzard play their cards right then they're surely onto a winner here. Hearthstone's available right now and is free-to-play, just head on over here to get playing.

Have you given Hearthstone a go yet?

Think it's got that classic winning Blizzard fomula?

any thoughts? I've played the beta and think it's a great game (as CCG), although I doubt it will establish itself as a viable esport (too much RNG).

I think it's great casual fun. Good if you just want to kill some time.

I also think there is too much RNG. It is card game but there is plenty of room how to minimize it. For example more starting cards or ability to choose cards for begining. They just didn't implemented anything to get rid of RNG.
