Another year, another E3. This year’s E3 will the bulk of the attention firmly planted on the three big console players, as each of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have something to prove.

It’s all gone a bit quiet on exclusives hitting consoles during the next 18 months, and so gamers are already looking forward to Microsoft’s E3 conference in trepidation gleeful anticipation of some big gaming surprises. Microsoft game studio head Phil Spencer tweeted over the weekend that their 90-minute slot is already overloaded with content…

June’s creeping around quickly and anticipation is building for E3, with Phil Spencer moving to ease worries that Microsoft’s E3 press conference will be full to the rafters with execs, with nary a game in sight. Spencer tweeted over the weekend; “I think you'll see very few execs. We are already over our 90 minute time limit and having to move stuff out of show.

Microsoft has had a bit of a rollercoaster ride at E3 over the years, including 2013’s controversial Xbox One event, and the divisive unveiling of its Kinect. In terms of expected exclusives for Xbox One later in the year, Insomniac Games’ Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break should get some more concrete info, while there’s still the mystery that is the as-yet-unannounced Halo game.

More games and less suits sounds like a recipe for success to us. but it's whether it can surprise its audience that's the biggest question. The usual glut of sequels probably won't be enough to get a rise from most people, so here's hoping Microsoft has a few tricks up its sleeve!

What announcements are you hoping for from Microsoft at E3 2014?

Do you think the Xbox One has enough good exclusives to see it through the coming year?

The three big console players... It's only two. Microsofts xbone and Sonys playstation 4. The only competition they have is each other not nintendo. If they unveil something revolutionary at E3 then maybe they'll have competition but until then you can count nintendo out of the race.

How many of these games will be exclusives? How many of them are unannounced? It will be interesting to see how they rebound from their E3 debacle from last year.

I hope this indicates what Microsoft meant by supporting the PC platform more. Hopefully lot's of new IP's for everyone to enjoy, instead of the same old stuff.

I agree, if a Need for Speed 3 is released it's going to be just as bad as the last 3 that were released. Nothing more than Burnout with Licensed cars.

Ah! A wrestling fan here. Nice to see :) Just an off chance you're wondering which match I'm most excited about, that would be the one that involves The Shield :)
As for E3, apart from the surprises (primarily from Sony for the PS4 and Vita), I'd love to see that 40-min gameplay demo of The Witcher 3 from CDPR. It's the least they can do.... :P
