New screens from upcoming indie horror The Forest reveal that this is one terrifying walk in the woods you might want to go on.
The Oculus Rift-supporting horror has you scrambling to survive, battling the cold, starvation, and practically naked axe-hurling psychopaths…
Developed on the Unity engine, developer Endnight Games claims that The Forest utilises some cutting edge visual and lighting effects to produce these striking (and terrifying) visuals.
Endnight Games has revealed that the alpha version of The Forest will be hitting Steam Early Access on May 22, with an early doors peek at the game setting you back $14.99.
As if contending with naked cannibals was tricky, in The Forest you’ll have to rely on your survival skills to construct a camp, get a nice warm fire going, and hunting down the local wildlife for a bite to eat.
Endnight Games claims that their “backgrounds in film visual effects and animation on projects such as ‘Tron: Legacy’, ‘The Amazing Spiderman 2’, and the ‘Twilight’ films have allowed us to utilize realtime technology to deliver a realistic looking and harrowing vision of horror, featuring some of the most believable and life like creatures you’ve ever seen in a video game.”
While we're at it, why not have a new trailer thrown in to the mixer!
All I know is I'm crap enough at putting a tent up as it is, the knowledge that a psychopathic loon could be behind me as I struggle to put a peg in could be too much to bear.
The Forest is setting up camp on Steam Early Access come May 22, priced for a snip at $14.99.
