Forgoing the opportunity to stretch out Lego: The Hobbit into two games (I’m looking at you, Lego: Indiana Jones 2), Warner Bros and Traveller’s Tales will reportedly be releasing the third film as DLC later this year.

The third feature film in The Hobbit trilogy, There and Back Again, will be out this Christmas, with Lego: The Hobbit featuring the additional content as possible paid-for DLC…

Lego: The Hobbit is arriving April 11 on pretty much every platform under the sun, containing levels and content from the first two The Hobbit movies - An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug.

The DLC news comes courtesy of Brick Fanatics, and if there’s ever a site I’d trust with Lego-based news, they must be it. Warner Bros are still keeping mum on the matter, aside from the ever-reliable "Definitely stay tuned for more exciting news in the near future."

Provided the content is still there in the main game then I don’t have an issue with this. Once they start dividing up their usually impressive rosters and have paid-for characters, then it becomes a problem for the series.

Would you be willing to part with your hard-earned money for some Lego: The Hobbit DLC?

Who here on GD’s got Lego burnout?

The best game was Indiana Jones 1, 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean for psp. the pc version was a bit more boring to me. The lego movie video game sucked a lot, graphics were worser than the games before and not good optimized for intel hd.

At least they're not going to make a whole new game, I think that's a smart move byTT

and I never get burnt out on these games if they're good :D They're one of very few series' I don't mind trying to 100%

plus 2 player local co-op's a blast

This makes more sense then to release another game with 3rd instalment and adding the previous 2 into it. Suppose it also depends on how much they are gonna charge for it.

As if vanilla LEGO games didn't already lack enough content, now we have to pay for more?

Why not wait until after There and Back Again to release the game... oh right... they'll want their money won't they. Lego games aren't what they used to be.
