Everything is not as it seems though, as the latest trailer for Below reveals that it will also be hitting PC, thanks to a rogue Steam logo painted on a cave wall. Bad news for Microsoft, excellent news for gamers…
For those who haven’t been keeping a beady eye on its progress, Below is an adventure game where the player controls a tiny warrior who explores the depth of an expansive and remote island. It was first revealed as a prominent exclusive for Xbox One’s new ID@Xbox scheme, but has since broken free of the shackles of Microsoft’s console.
As is the demand nowadays, Below is a randomly-generated roguelike affair, where the aim is to descend as deep as possible into the depths of this mysterious mountain. Keep an eye out for some Demon’s Souls-esque combat and permadeath. It sounds like a concoction designed to bring players close to tears, and I for one can’t wait to see a snippet more.
"You'll scour the open world in search of rare and special loot while battling the malevolent Darkness, an artificial intelligence-controlled character that uses Kinect to sense and change level progression based on the room's surroundings,” said Microsoft when announcing Below.
Everyone loves a trailer, and we’ve for a brand new one below ;) Keep an eye out for the wall painting!
There’s no release date just yet for Below, but we’re hoping it arrives sometime later this year.
