League of Legends is set to get a magnificently mustachioed new addition in a forthcoming update.
The bristly-faced wonder goes by the name of Braum, and as if his facial furniture wasn’t impressive enough, the frozen peaks of the Freljord have forged a main whose upper body strength is capable of hurling large cattle…
Riot Games announced Braum in a new blog post, saying “his feats inspire all from the poorest of peasants to the fiercest of raiders. And as he prepares to bear his shield into battle once again, he goes knowing he carries the hopes and adoration of the Freljord’s people with him.” Oh, and did we mention his lavish upper lipholstery?
Coming from the icy lands, he’s got a barrage of frost-fuelled attacks to complement his brute force melee set, including Winter’s Bite, which propels freezing ice from his shield, and Glacial Fissure that sends out a damaging shockwave to unbalance enemies and slow their movements. Unfortunately there doesn’t look to be any smiting attacks involving Braum’s voluminous lip luggage.
"We’ve had plenty of defensive supports – champions like Nami, Soraka, Janna etc – who negate damage through heals or shields, along with fighter supports like Leona and Alistar, who are generally great at initiating teamfights before diving deep into the enemy team and disrupting as much as possible," read Riot Games blog. "Braum’s something different: he’s a tanky support who literally takes the hits for his team, and as such requires a new mindset, position and play style to most conventional supports."
He’s currently only available in League of Legends’ Public Beta Environment if you want to give him a test run, but he should be dropping in an official update soon.
Looking forward to getting your hands on Braum?
