A brand new batch of screens have been released for World of Speed, flaunting the London track in all its glory. For those hoping for the spiritual return of Metropolis Street Racer, this is as close as you’re going to get.

Slightly Mad Studios are the the team behind World of Speed, who found fame, fortune, and squealing tires with Need For Speed: Shift back in 2009, and are back with this online-only multiplayer street racer…

World of Speed takes you on a tour of real-world locations around the globe, putting the pedal to the metal in an array of exotic sports cars against online competition.

The new screens below certainly look the part, all they’re missing is a parade of Beefeaters and a thick layer of smog and we’d struggle to differentiate it from the real deal.

World of Speed is tentatively scheduled for a 2014 release, and it will currently be exclusive to PC.

Has World of Speed tickled your fancy?

With this, DriveClub, and The Crew, are we being inundated with social racing experiences in 2014?

Cruise on down to the pitstop below and let us know!

What I am saying is it would not hurt to try this game as its F2P and the gaming industry is swiftly moving towards online MMO games and leaving SP games behind so things like these games going to pop up more.

I sincerely hate MMOs and online games the way they are now.
Gaming industry is swiftly profiting of not selling boxed games and not pay a single $$ to build the network so people could afford to download them "for free" same as they went to a store "for free" :P

That Madness Engine has awesome graphics, exellent detalization. Even the first nfs shift which was released back in 2009 is still looking great even today. I sometimes play it btw.

It's supposed to be F2P...I just hope not as P2W as some of the "F2P" EA games
