With months of hype behind us, E3 2014 finally kicks off today. Here we'll be reporting on Microsoft's Press conference, which kicks off at 9am Pacific Time.

We've expecting news of Halo 5 to feature prominently, whilst Microsoft's exclusivity deal for Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare is another plausible candidate. Join us here, as we will be liveblogging everything from Microsoft's E3 2014 Press Conference as it happens...

Be sure to check back later for live updates on the other press conferences happening during Monday at E3 2014...

09:00 PST:

So we're just 30 minutes from the start of Microsoft's E3 conference, and there's a lot of speculation about what exclusives might be appearing for Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One this year.

If last year was the battle of the consoles, it seems like this year might just be the battle of the console exclusives. Halo 5 has already been announced, but can it grab enough attention at this E3 conference to keep the attention on Microsoft?

Of course, Phil Spencer has chatted a lot about Microsoft's increasing interest on PC, and we're hoping we might hear whispers of what the Redmont giant has in store for its PC gaming fans.

09:30PST: And we’re off, starting with Xbox head Phil Spencer, thanking devs and Xbox One fans alike for the support shown to Microsoft since the November launch of the Xbox One.

09:34PST: We’re promised new IPs and franchises, so it looks like we’ll be getting new

09:35PST: Xbox fans will be getting all COD: Advanced Warfare extras first thanks to a Microsoft exclusivity deal, which was expected, and it looks like MS are starting their E3 coverage with the Sledgehammer Activision title.

09:36PST: Some cool footage of Advanced Warfare on show, and the game is certainly looking visually striking. A lot of tech and mech on show in this futuristic FPS, which is as shiny and high-production as you’d expect from a Call of Duty game. It does look like Sledgehammer are genuinely trying to do something interesting and different with the setting and plot, so that’s interesting.

09:44PST And we’re on to a presentation by Turn 10 talking about Forza Motorsport 5. The Nurburgring will be added as a free update to Forza Motorsport 5 from today.

09:46PST: On to the expected Forza Horizon 2, which will use the same graphics engine as Forza Motorsport 5, and will add dynamic day and night setting. The game will be available in 1080p, so that’s a nice boon for Xbox One fans.

09:47PST: FORZA HORIZON 2 RELEASE DATE: SEPTEMBER 30TH

09:50PST: And then, with barely a pause for breath, we’re on to some brand new footage for Evolve, which will be entering open beta this fall.

09:52PST: Aaaaand here’s Assassin’s Creed Unity. Xbox Live Brotherhood co-op is unveiled for the title. We’d imagine this isn’t an Xbox-only feature, so it seems likely that PC gamers will be able to form their own Brotherhoods, too.

09:53PST: Assassin’s Creed Unity is looking as stunning as we guessed from that reveal trailer. If recent Ubisoft optimization is anything to go by, that’s not necessarily a great thing for us PC gamers, and I’d guess we’re looking Watch-Dogs-Levels of requirements for this title. Hopefully Ubi will learn from the repeated PC gamer backlash, but we’re not counting on it.

I’m personally loving this French Revolution setting, however, and it looks like Ubisoft have done justice to the rather gruesome period.

10:00PST: Sunset Overdrive looks just as irreverant as we figured from earlier footage. Favourite line: “Can you save Sunset City? Of course you can, it’s a f***ing videogame”. Classic. It’s a shame this title is only for Xbox one, as the crazy, comic-style combat and freerunning look like they’re a cool and rather silly take on the third-person shooter genre. There's 8-person co-op too.

10:06PST: SUNSET OVERDRIVE RELEASE DATE OCTOBER 28th.

ALSO, DLC for Dead Rising 3 that allows you to dress up as your favourite Capcom heroes; it’s available now. The DLC is called “Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arecade Remix Hyper Edition DX Plus Alpha”. That’s the actual name of it. Honestly.

10:07PST: Harmonix reveal Disney Fantasia Music Evolved, and also announce Dance Central Spotlight.

10:09PST: Another anticipated title: Fable Legends. In this chapter, apparently, you enter an ancient forest to try and claim an ancient relic. Another Xbox One exclusive (predictably), this title is a co-op game. In Fable Legends, as we’d already heard rumoured, players can choose either 4-person co-op or can play the evil villain. effectively acting as a game master as you set traps and cunning plots to beat the co-operative players.

10:15PST: It’s time for Project Spark news. Pretty excited about this game/software, which allows gamers on PC and Xbox to create their own games within it. According to Microsoft, there are already over 1,000,000 in spite of the the fact the game is currently only in beta.

10:22PST: It’s the big one. Halo 5, and Bonnie Ross is on stage to chat about the future of Master Chief. The Master Chief Collection is announced for November 11th this year, allowing gamers to play the first four Halo games on one console for the first time. Everything will be unlocked, and the interface will be fully integrated on one disk. They will all be running on 1080p at 60FPS.

10:26PST: Halo 2 Anniversary Edition announced, along with the original Halo 2 multiplayer in tact. This looks likely to be something of a favourite for Halo fans.

10:28PST: Aaaaaannnnd it’s HALO 5 TIME EVERYONE! Apparently, the game will be entering Beta in December, and anyone who buys the Halo Master Chief collection will have access to the Beta. That's a little earlier than we'd expected.

10:31PST: Looking to show off some of its Xbox Live portfolio, Phil Spencer is back to check out some indie titles. There’s a creepy looking indie, dystopian title called Inside on show, which looks a little like Limbo would if it was set in an oppressive dictatorship. Which is fitting, since it comes courtesy of Limbo studio Playdead.

10:34PST: A huuuuge number of ID indie Xbox One titles on show, some of which we’ve seen before for PC and/or mobile. Quite a few - Hellraid came up - will definitely be coming to PC too, and no doubt we’ll be getting more on these over the next week.

10:37PST: Turns out that leak earlier today about a new game called Rise of the Tomb Raider was 100% on the mark; a new teaser trailer showing Lara Croft in talks with a creepy looking shrink has just been shown. Another visually stunning title; this looks like it could be yet another testing game on our PC hardware. It doesn’t looks too significant a step up from the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot, however, so hopefully we’ll see similar system specs for this game.

10:38PST: And its two members of the CD Projekt RED team, looking at some gameplay for The Witcher 3. Since I never claimed neutrality in reporting this conference, I am going to go ahead and say it looks ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, although I hate to think what all the complex lighting and shadows might do to the recommended system requirements for this game. CDPR have always been good to PC gamers, so hopefully we’ll see excellent PC optimisation so we can run the game on lower specs, too.

10:36PST: Ken Lobb, Microsoft Studios creative director on stage to announce Xbox One exclusive Phantom Dust.

10:47PST: We weren’t expecting to see this title so early in the day; have some The Division footage on show for you. It shows the protagonist making his way through an abandoned subway station. The new Snowdrop engine looks truly astounding. Please, Ubisoft, think of the PC gamers! This could eat up the average gaming system. Since the title probably won’t see the light of day until next year earliest, we’ve got some time for a system update before then. You might need one.

10:52PST: Another big Xbox One exclusive revealed; Scalebound. The reveal trailer shows a blonde kid fighting dragons and a hydra, all the while looking astoundingly like Joffrey from Game of Thrones.

10:58PST: THE RUMOURS WERE TRUE: Crackdown is coming back.

11:10PST: Microsoft definitely didn't let us down with this impressive start to E3. If the other major publishers can live up to this level of content, it looks like we've got a truly astounding conference ahead of us. I'm handing over to Stuart now, as he'll be bringing you all the news from the EA, Ubisoft and Sony Press conferences later today. I thought it was a solid Microsoft presser. They have some good software coming out and it was free of the condescending tone of past MS pressers. I will probably wait until 2015 (or Xmas 2014 at the earliest) to buy an Xbox One, though. I want to see how good games like Sunset Overdrive will be.

Pretty solid start to E3. It was ALL games from Microsoft! If I counted correctly, there were more than 20 games on show excluding the nearly 15 Indie titles.
Bravo, Microsoft!
Oh, and that Dead Riding 3 DLC trailer was absolutely hilarious! :D
