Risen 3: Titan Lords is forgoing the piratical goings-on of its predecessor to go back to its medieval roots. Swapping flagons of grog for barrel-shaped dwarves and voodoo magic for lustrous beards, Risen 3: Titan Lords is an action RPG of grandiose proportions.

From Piranha Bytes, the team that brought you the Gothic series, Risen 3 tells the tale of a young warrior abandoned by the gods and divorced from his soul, who must enlist the help of the banned mages on the Island of Thunder to restore the world and end the Titan Wars once and for all. It's all sounding rather 'epic', but to find out if the system requirements for Risen 3 are just epic, read on to check them out...

Phew, it's not often we get system requirements as relaxed as this. Risen 3: Titan Lords looks like it's capable of running on the majority of gaming PCs. The minimum system requirements for Risen 3 are actually marginally lower than those seen on Risen 2: Dark Waters. No doubt running on the very same engine, it's likely that Piranha Bytes have optimised Risen 3 to work on lower end systems.

For the minimum system requirements for Risen 3 you're looking at just an Nvidia GeForce 8500GT or AMD Radeon HD 2600 Pro to get Risen 3: Titan Lords off the ground, coupled with a bare-minimum dual-core processor and just 2GB of system memory. From the released footage and screens so far Risen 3 can actually be quite a pretty game, so be prepared to make some hefty sacrifices if your rig is down this end of the scale.

Recommended Risen 3: Titan Lords requirements are of course quite a bit higher, but even these are only an incremental step up from Risen 2. While the intel i5-655K demands might seem terrifying to some, this processor is most definitely one of the least competent of Intel's i5 range.

If you've played Risen 2: Dark Waters already then you can expect your performance to be extremely similar in Risen 3: Titan Lords, thanks to the same engine being used and some optimisations that have clearly been going on underneath the hood.

It must scale very good with hardware I guess.

Reasonable system requirements compared to the farcical inflated requirements we've been seeing these past few months... Well they are using the same engine right...?

Yes they do. They actualy use same engine since Gothis 3 as far as i know, so that engine is older and they had lot of time to optimise it. That will probably be the reason of low requirements.
