Rainbow Six: Siege was officially unveiled - following what was basically a complete rework of Rainbow Six: Patriots - at Ubisoft’s 2014 E3 Press Conference, and it seems the multiplayer shooter will be getting a betas testing phase before it eventually launches.
Speaking at E3, Rainbow Six: Siege producer Sebastien Labbe let slip that the title was likely to enter beta firsthand to try and create an online community around the game to provide the strongest PvP experience possible…
It seems Labbe wasn’t exactly supposed to discuss the possibility of a Rainbow Six: Siege beta, since he prefaced the hint by saying that "Maybe PR will kill me if I say so”. However, he went on to discuss the importance of beta development to the success of online shooters, adding that “if we wait until the launch, I expect it will be too late.”
“There will certainly be things that will occur, but at the moment we can’t talk about that. It’s not clearly defined because it’s still a lot of work to do, but certainly there will be some announcements about that. So stay tuned.” he added. For those of you wondering, yes, that’s about as unsubtle as you can be without actually explicitly giving away information to the press.
