PC and PlayStation gamers are receiving the first huge new update to Watch Dogs, providing a raft of fixes to improve game performance and stability.

Like any open-world game Watch Dogs arrived with its fair share of problems. PC optimisation was shaky at best, while there were enough bugs to give Pixar pause for thought. This first update provides a number of major game fixes to prevent many of Watch Dogs game breaking bugs, as well as PC specific fixes to boost performance…

Major Game Fixes For Watch Dogs

  • Automatically fix corrupted save files which prevented players from going beyond 90% completion. Some of the collectibles in Watch Dogs may still be unobtainable.
  • Fixed an issue whereby players were sometimes prevented from using hacks in-game.

Watch Dogs Gameplay Fixes

  • Several bugs that caused corrupted mission progress fixed.
  • Minor mission and item-related issues fixed.
  • Fixed the issue that caused the weapon-wheel selection screen to be empty.

Watch Dogs Multiplayer Fixes

  • Fixed several minor respawn issues.
  • Fixed some connection problems and issues joining sessions.

PC Specific Watch Dogs Fixes

  • Fixed graphical glitches that can occur on Low & Medium settings in Watch Dogs.
  • Fixed some crashes on Nvidia SLI configurations.
  • Implemented several performance improvements for Watch Dogs.
  • Refined controls and Implemented a few control improvements.
  • Fixed issues causing infinite messaging and timing-out when trying to access the Online Shop from the Extras Menu while Uplay is set to Offline mode.
  • Fixed issues whereby players could not connect to a Multiplayer game.
  • Several mouse modifications have been implemented to provide more accurate mouse movement.
  • Fixed "Drinking Game" control issue where wrong information was displayed when played with a gamepad.
  • Fixed "Chess Game" control issue.
  • Fixed bug where the invasion setting was never saved.
  • Fixed graphical issues that may occur during cut scenes and cinematics.
  • Fixed several graphical and texture bugs.
  • Removed Vista OS check to prevent false positives.
  • Added game version in main menu of Watch Dogs.

Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners you’ve got a bit of a wait on your hands unfortunately, with Ubisoft claiming that the update will be hitting Microsoft systems next week. PC and PlayStation gamers should be able to download the patch imminently.

As always, be sure to let us know if you see any performance improvements using the latest Watch Dogs patch!

Meh, patch borked my stuttering issues again, was using "Watch_Dogs_configTool" pre patch and it illiminated all graphical issues for me, was even playing on ultra settings with smooth fps. Now it's back to stuttering, cars are once again a killer.
Really is a poor show from UbiSoft, maybe if they put as much money into development as they do for advertising they might actually make something useable.

I've played last night with the new patch and the gfx are improved but the sttuter is not missing though especially on ultra textures.. My settings are textures high and all the rest on max and my fps was 45-60 smooth enough for a great game play.
With sweetfx and this patch the game look much better..the bloom is there and I hope for a better optimization with the next patch.

For USD 3000 price of Titan Z, you can build a rig with an i7-4770K and two Titans in SLI... Stupid Nvidia...

"PC and PlayStation gamers should be able to download the patch imminently."
Yet on the ubisoft forums it states:
" For PC, the patch will be available in the coming days. For Xbox One and Xbox 360, the patch will be released within the next week."

As with BF4 I ask again, why did these jackasses not address these issues before release - especially after delaying this title for six bloody months... Do they not have a quality control and bug testing team...? It is the equivalent of a chef at a restaurant screwing up your overpriced dish after delaying it for a half hour and then offering to repair it somehow with a little tweaking...

I wouldn't be surprised if they just sat on the game for six months just to create more hype.

Some say that ubisoft delayed the game in order to downgrade the PC graphics to consoles level. Now I think they done that because Sony and Microsoft payed them a lot of money. If the game would look/run better on PC, the consoles sales low

Bf hardline beta has the same performance issues as bf4 did, they never learn.
I know it's just a beta but it plays the same.

I hope this will eliminate all the stuttering and FPS drops we experienced. My game ran at 50 FPS when things were good but suddenly they dropped to 10 O.o
Do you think the update carries visual improvements? Since the mod to enhance the visuals already used locked features in the game!
