Ubisoft has released a new Assassin’s Creed Unity trailer showcasing the game engine and tech effects going on behind the scenes of the latest outing in the series.

The game engine has been redesigned from the ground up for Assassin’s Creed Unity, and creative director Alex Amancio claims that this delivers one of the most radically different Assassin’s Creed experiences yet…

We’ve created an experience materially different from anything we’ve designed before,” said Amancio. “With Unity we’ve raised the bar in terms of how we build worlds and how you interact with them.

Check out all of the graphical effects and wizardry in the brand new trailer for Assassin's Creed Unity below...

Assassin’s Creed Unity is out on October 28th worldwide for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

What do you think of the engine improvements for Assassin's Creed Unity? How much more demanding do you think Unity will be than previous games in the series? Let us know below!

I think in e3 there was a high end pc with max antialiasing. This one is ps4 I guess. Still looks good though

Acutally they said that it was on PC with a performance level similiar to a Xbox One. But weather this is actually true or not is not known :D

Infantry officer's sabre + Wheel-lock pistol + that outfit
Not bad Ubisoft... Not bad...
PS: Anybody else think the guy's outfit together with the sabre and pistol is reminiscent of Corvo's get up from Dishonoured...?

I don't really like the uniform its just too plain plus no 2 pistols is something of a problems especially with the combat's difficulty being upped.

You have different types of weapons that pierce armour and stuff. Its just revamped so no counter. But its simple enough if you have like 3-4 guys and no bombardier guys.

They may have shown the power of the engine which looks great, though they didn't say the game's gonna look like this on release. There was no ''Actual gameplay'' stamp and they may aswell do the same thing they did with Watch Dogs, dumb it down for the sake of the consoles.

I froze for a second when he said "unity" because I immediately thought he meant the engine which is not ALL suited to this game

not exactly what I meant lol ×Đ
nah, I just wanna see a game made with passion and deep thinking, tackled the details, meaningful story, enjoyable controls, unforgettable "wow" moments and catchy gameplay - is it really so difficult these days?! -_-

for ex. I like naval battles and theme of AC:4,
but I see totally no point of being that AC game, and AC elements just suck in that game, coz Assassin=Pirate =wtf?! lol ×Đ
I expect the same with AC:5 - unnecessarily overhyped title bringing epic world with stale AC theme including lame keyboard controls

@Tzzmsk allow me to correct you :D AC5 is now a game with whole new controls so you can't judge them to be lame whereas in navigation things seem promising. The game openworld looks nice with all those crowds. About the story and being an Assassin, trust me, this has nothing to do with the game but he who writes the script. I mean, you could have a true Assassin in a pirate setting, so you should wait and see what the game has to offer in terms of character and story. I myself think Arno will have an interesting personality judging from his background :D

I'm not judging yet, but my expectations are quite foggy
controls will not be whole new, perhaps they'll make more QTEs, cutsene-like animations instead of direct movement, perhaps redesign jumping and combat... but overall it will be a console port, in most cases being really awful to control with keyboard on PC, that's all.

I doubt it will be awful when controlling with Keyboard. I never had a problem with AC on Keyboard.

AssassinsMentor, if you never had a problem with AC on a keyboard then you probably haven't played AC II on your pc because this game had literally the worst keyboard controls in the whole series. This game didn't even bother to tell you the controls, instead it used icons to represent what each keyboard key does.

You want me to complain about a game I played more than 4 years ago? Btw, I finished it 3 times but I am past complaining now. Other sequels had decent controls.

Well you can always check out controls from the Control settings option and you get used to the icons by like 10th min of the game. Other controls were exactly like AC 1. I dont see any issue with this.

Well I dont know as I only had one AC on 360 which was AC 2 and others on Pc so had no problems with them controls.

Cool trailer. But I do hope that they put some more effort to the PC version. While yes I think that AC IV was far better optimized then that ( may I say? ) unholy ACIII it still could have been alot better. But have you guys seen this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49tN_PnpES8 I think the video is kinda cool but Im not realy sure how did they do the frame rate analysis but still. And sience the game is not finished I know this video may seem pointless at this point.

Now when i watched the video... just replace words like "Paris" with "Chicago" and "AC" with "WD" and u get same words...well... almost... Do not jump the HYPE TRAIN! :D

Yet Assassin's Creed never suffered downgrading in terms of graphics. Actually, I believe when I see AC stunning in visuals, I should be sure that it will remain the same in release just like ACIV. Optimization is a whole another thing unfortunately. But as long as I can play the game smoothly, I try to appreciate it :)

Being astonished by everything I saw, I still have to admit that the most astonishing scene in that video is the one showing the realism of character build! Come on I though at first that girl to be real! I am very happy that I've upgraded my rig. Ubisoft has a chance to make an optimized game thanks to the new engine. Anvil hasn't been so bad before ACIII and I believe they need to optimize the game now :D

That HouseBloc tech to creat streets is awesome. And I hear that there are heavy/light/medium armoured opponents that require different kind of weapons and thus you have different weapon slots. And the pre order exclusives say that you can customise different parts of your armou. AND Ezio's Family re-imagined is an actual included soundtrack. Need I say more.

when I see the long list of games by Ubisoft, last 5 years are quite boring/repetitive, The Crew and Watch Dogs were supposed to change something, but they did not, and now Ubisoft is just milking Assassin's Creed "brand" :P
