Developer Harebrained Schemes has confirmed that Shadowrun Returns’ expansion Dragonfall is to get a standalone Director’s Cut version later this year.
The Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director’s Cut will be arriving in September, and will be a free download for anybody who’s already bought the expansion or splashed out on the original Kickstarter...
Little is currently known about what changes Harebrained Schemes will be making to Shadowrun: Dragonfall, which was rapturously received when it launched earlier this year, not least by GD’s very own Stuart, who said “it is a supreme work” in his glowing review.
"As with Shadowrun Returns, we heard feedback about some things that folks wanted to see improved or simply wanted more of," Dragonfall game director Mike McCain wrote in recent Kickstarter update. "We also heard many requests for a standalone version of the game - since it’s narratively independent of the Shadowrun Returns campaign, players wanted to be able to dive directly into Dragonfall."
More details should be forthcoming next month, but for now what we do know is that Shadowrun: Dragonfall - The Director’s Cut will feature new features, missions, art, and more.
It’s out in September, so if you haven't got on board with this seminal sci-fi RPG then this will be as good a time as any. For those unfamiliar it's a turn-based tactical RPG taking place in the Shadowrun universe, a tabletop role-playing game combining elements of cyberpunk, and and conspiracy fiction stories.
