Crytek has been running into some serious problems as of late, and the German publisher has now announced a raft of layoffs will take place at its Austin, Texas studio, with development duties on Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age shifting to its Frankfurt outfit.

As well as this Koch Media has announced that it has bought out Crytek UK and the rights to Homefront: The Revolution, and will now be known by the rather more swish moniker of Deep Silver Dambusters…

Several key staff members will remain in Austin to continue working on the CryEngine, while some will also make the move to Frankfurt and continue working on Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age.

"As we look to cement Crytek's future, this strategic deal with Koch Media would allow us to continue with our ambitious goals to become an online publisher. With Warface, Arena of Fate and Hunt, we believe we have the perfect portfolio and teams to make that happen," said Crytek CEO, Cevat Yerli. "We would like to thank all our staff - past and present - in both Nottingham and Austin for their contributions to the company, and we wish all the very best to anyone who may no longer be under the Crytek banner moving forward."

Crytek has now dropped all rights to Homefront: The Revolution, which will now be developed by Dambuster Studios, composed of a number of ex-staff from Crytek UK. It hopefully marks the end of a saga which has dragged on for weeks, following the news that Crytek had stopped paying its staff having run into financial trouble.

Glad that this is all finally sorted out and we'll still be getting Homefront: The Revolution? Do you think the trouble brewing at Crytek can be put to rest? Let us know!

Crysis Serries, Ryse Son Of Rome did not dissapoint! I don't think Homefront will, but i'm more excited about Hunt then anything else! The transition to triple A studio to Free To Play Triple A studio.. it's hard.In the freetoplay market besides GW2 and Terra,Black Desert and a couple more there are no Triple A Mmo's

Never nice to hear bout people losing their jobs, so lets hope they all land on their feet and find something new. And lets hope Homefront: The Revolution doesn't disappoint.
