Xbox 360 gamers got their fill of Fable Anniversary some months ago, but us PC gamers have waited patiently knowing our time would come. The reboot of the original Fable is out next month, and Lionhead's classic has been remastered for HD with brand new visuals and audio; a little slice of fan-service that should please long-term Fablers and get some new players into Albion along the way.
Players will be able to test their mettle in the all-new Heroic difficulty setting, featuring even more lethal enemies and no chance for resurrection. Or you can just be a chicken-chaser and village idiot, the choice is very yours. Before you dust off your halo/devil horns (delete as appropriate) though, you'll need to know if your gaming rig is up to the task. So, read on to check out the official Fable Anniversary system requirements.
Fable Anniversary Minimum System Requirements
- OS: Windows 7 32-bit
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon II X2 215 2.7 GHz
- RAM: 3GB System Memory
- GPU RAM: 256 MB Graphics Memory
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT or AMD Radeon X1800
- DX: DirectX 9.0
Fable Anniversary Recommended System Requirements
- OS: Windows 7 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33 GHz or AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core 2.5 GHz
- RAM: 4 GB System Memory
- GPU RAM: 512 MB Graphics Memory
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or AMD Radeon HD 4860
- DX: DirectX 9.0
Compared to the original Fable's requirements from back in 2004 these system requirements for Fable Anniversary are stratospheric. Luckily we've hopefully all got hold of some more powerful gaming PCs since then which should hopefully make mincemeat of these pretty low system requirements. A port of an Xbox 360 game, these Fable Anniversary requirements are a relic of the last generation of consoles, which should be great for those with older PCs.
Hitting the Fable Anniversary minimum requirements needs just a dual-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz and an aging GeForce 7600 GT or AMD Radeon X1800 which is pretty low by today's standards. The 3GB system memory is comparably high but it's nothing particularly eye catching.
The recommended requirements for Fable Anniversary are a fair bit higher in terms of GPU, needing a GeForce GTX 260 or AMD Radeon HD 4860. Luckily the other components are a little more forgiving, and most PCs bought in the last five years should have a relatively decent CPU and at least 4GB of RAM to get Fable Anniversary looking its best.
Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the Fable Anniversary System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Fable Anniversary benchmark chart. What do you make of the Fable Anniversary system requirements? Let us know! Cheers reapr56 for the heads up!

It looks good and it could almost run on my old XP hobby rig lol... but I can't forget the big middle finger Lionhead and Microsoft has given fans over the Issues Fable III and its DLC is having on PC.. I can't help but wounder if the same will come of this game in 5 years?..

The original Fable games is one of my all-time-favourite games. It really reminded me of Zelda Ocarina of Time (which incidentally IS my all-time favourite). Fable 2 was great... after that it got kinda disastrous. If you haven't guessed by this point I'm a fan of RPGs haha. I think the best one I've encountered since Fable that's really captured my attention was Kingdoms of Amulur.

My mind, body, and soul is ready for this game. Fable 1 is still one of the best RPGs ever made imo. Didn't get to play the HD version on the 360, so I'm super excited now to finally be able to play it.

Since TLC got me out of the casual gamer status, is the definition of my childhood and got me into the RPG genre, I'm really looking forward to this :3

A blast from the past! Loving those minimum requirements, that means more people can get involved with the Fable community with a potato! Good to hear.

Fable: The Lost Chapter is the best within this series.

So, this will run on Win Xp too (with either 2 or 3 gigs of ram?)?
Also, besides the min CPU req, quite a decent and optimised port :)

Best RPG of 2004 for me.
