inXile Entertainment's head honcho Brian Fargo finally tweeted a concrete release date for Wasteland 2. The studio’s post-apocalyptic sequel will be arriving on September 19th exclusively for PC.

The wait for a sequel to Wasteland has stretched on for more than a quarter of a century, but the long-awaited Kickstarter success will finally be seeing the light of day in just a month’s time, when players will be able to step out into the hellish landscape of an irradiated United States for a sprawling RPG adventure.

Official Wasteland 2 release date... September 19th! The 20+ year wait is soon over,” tweeted Fargo last night. Wasteland 2 is available in Steam now via Early Access, but the second half of the game will be arriving in a huge launch day update.

Director Brian Fargo is the very same man who directed the 1988 original Wasteland, which many see as the precursor to the original Fallout release. The rest is history for that series, but Fargo’s intent on bringing Wasteland back into the limelight with this promising looking sequel.

Wasteland 2 originally hit Kickstarter way back in 2012, smashing through its $900,000 goal and raking in nearly $3 million. Originally supposed to launch this month, Wasteland 2 was pushed back as InXile look to polish it up with improvements, bug fixes, and new content before launch. Picking up this highly anticipated sequel at launch? Already plugging away at the Early Access? Let us know what you think below!

Perfect! I'll have enough time to finish Divinity and Risen 3 before this gets released. To good to be true for an RPG freak like myself! :) I'm still waiting to hear something about Pillars of Eternity official release! :)
