Ancient Space caught us by surprise just a matter of weeks ago; an eye-catching single-player focused sci-fi strategy game set in the deep echelons of space. From the same fledgling developer working on the hugely promising Hard West, Ancient Space is an epic story-driven intergalactic adventure whereby the player takes control of a dangerous scientific mission to the undiscovered reaches of space.
From all of the footage we've received so far Ancient Space appears to be a spectacular looking strategy game, allowing players to command their own battle fleets and explore deep space in a story line featuring a big name cast from shows like Battlestar galactica, Firefly, and Star Trek: Enterprise. Before you set those phasers to stun though read on to check out the official Ancient Space system requirements and find out whether your gaming rig is a sleek starfighter or a rickety escape pod.

For a strategy game it has to be said that these system requirements for Ancient Space are pretty demanding, needing a fairly modern gaming rig just to hit those minimum system requirements. It's certainly no slouch in the graphics department, and CreativeForge Games claim you're going to need a GeForce GTX 460 or its AMD Radeon HD 6850 just to get it up and running. Coupled with some pretty powerful processors and you've got quite a demanding experience. Strategy games aren't usually fully 3D like this which makes for a more demanding experience as you can view everything from any angle at any time in three-dimensional space.
Moving on to the Ancient Space recommended requirements and these are pretty massive indeed, asking for a hefty 8GB of RAM, the two-years-old GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870 and quad-core processors. These do look a little higher than we'd though, although much of this will come down to how much action there is on screen at any one time, as well as CreativeForge's planned unit cap.

I am desperate for good Space Games. Can't wait to play this one!
What is it with devs lately with these astoundingly ridiculous system requirements...?
I would love to see new Homeworld. Now that Sierra is back, maybe there will be new HW, who knows?
Owner of HW license is now gearbox and they are making Homeworld remastered -both 1 and 2
Other than that, devs of original HW are creating rts "shipbreakers" and with gearbox blessing its now called Homeworld: Shipbreakers, and will work as prequel to hw
Oh and sierra was just publisher, game was made by THQ
I heard news about Sierra so i forgot they were just publishers. I am looking forward to new Homeworld i haven't played any good space game in a very long time.
Praise ZIlincan, god of space games!
i love how space games are becoming more popular in the recent years, hope they ll be of quality too! will try out a couple soon
