It sometimes feels like Assassin’s Creed Unity was delayed a few weeks just so Ubisoft could cram a few new trailers in, and the French publishing giant has duly obliged again with an Assassin’s Creed Unity co-op gameplay trailer.
Showing off one of the heist missions in which players must break into heavily guarded areas and steal valuable objects, the trailer is set in the tunnels deep below an ancient Parisian hospital, the Hôtel-Dieu. Players must work together to outfox guards and get away with the loot, although Ubisoft plays fast and loose with definition of 'strategy'.
Ubisoft Montreal creative director Alex Amancio is on hand to narrate this one, which features a pair of would-be assassins infiltrating a guarded graveyard before descending to the Parisian depths in the tunnel network. In the Heist Missions players must make it in and steal the object with ever being seen, so one wrong move and you’re toast.
While linear in structure, these co-op missions are designed to be replayable thanks to randomised loot locations and guard placements, and repeatedly playing them can earn special rewards and bonus skill points.
Assassin’s Creed Unity is out on November 11th in the US and November 13th in Europe for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Do you think Assassin’s Creed Unity’s co-op missions look varied enough to have you replaying them? What do you make of the new gameplay trailer?
