You can tell it’s the week before E3. Teaser trailers for upcoming AAA releases are beginning to sprout like pretty flowers from the fertile soil of development.
If the awesome/terrifying Kill Bill/Charlie’s Angels stylings of the new Hitman: Absolution wasn’t enough, a brand-new trailer for Zenimax and Arkane’s blood-soaked action game Dishonored has emerged from the shadows…...
From the creepy choral sea shanty (reminiscent perhaps of the original meaning of ‘Ring a ring o’ roses, the nursery rhyme widely believed to be about the plague) to the series of blood-spattered bodies being lowered lifeless to the ground, seen through the protagonist’s eyes, this trailer screams visceral spookiness.
A pack of rats can be seen running through the streets and assaulting guards, and some dock-workers throw piles of bodies into the water. Couple this with the theme music and I think it’s fair to guess that the game is going to take place in a city ravaged by some kind of disease.
There are some clever lighting effects, some impressive interiors and exteriors and lots and lots of blood. In terms of new abilities for your character, there’s perhaps not a lot we haven’t seen in the previous trailer – the environment is the star in this new clip.
Are you more excited for Dishonored after seeing this clip? Have you spotted anything in it that we might have missed?
