The first details on next year’s instalment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise have leaked. Known at present as Assassin’s Creed: Victory, the latest bout between Assassins and Templars is set in the cobbled streets and murky corners of Victorian London.

A seven-minute "target gameplay footage" video provided by an apparent source from Ubisoft exhibits some tasty shots of the fin-de-siècle British capital and its layout, hinting at a range of possibilities for familiar game mechanics in AC: Victory, as well as demonstrating a new grappling hook item.

Assassin's Creed Victory is also reported to be under development at Ubisoft’s Quebec studios, rather than the franchise’s usual home in Montreal - one of a few significant changes it brings to the extant Assassin’s creed formula. As well as leaving last-gen hardware behind to release only on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One, the release is currently set to arrive in Autumn 2015 as the only major Assassin’s Creed title of the year - departing from the twin-release schedule that in 2014 brought us both Assassin’s Creed: Rogue and Assassin's Creed Unity, though perhaps at a price.

As you can see from the screenshots, AC Victory is looking like another stunning entry to the series, and the gameplay footage is supposed to be advanced enough to be suitable for a full E3-type reveal. Could these sightings of Big Ben and St Paul's Cathedral imply any significance for them in the story? Will your assassin commute to killings on the Underground? How about those fiery stacks in the background - could Ubisoft levy a salient and touching environmental message on the subject of pollution? We can't help but think the Great Fire of London might have made for some intriguing play, but won't get our hopes up just yet since a Victorian setting is two centuries too late.

Are you excited about this new entry and the changes in its approach for the coming year and what else it might bring? Or perhaps you think Ubisoft should have taken a breather from Assassin’s Creed for a year just to avoid burnout?

More about Assassin’s Creed: Victory as soon as we hear. But you can’t wait and you're anxious to see if you can run it aren't you? Don't worry, we know. Check the system requirements on GD’s dedicated Victory game page here.

Well, they do realize, but you never know what they plan to do. We once asked for Victorian London setting and finally we are getting it. How they choose the settings and how they envision the game's each new release is a mystery to all fans.

You're right guys, but im just tired of the latest settings. Personally im done with NA and EU since their setting is similar to each other. I would just love to see an AC game take place in either Asia or Egypt. :)

Trust me it will happen soon enough. When some real creative director assumes control of one of the entries. I remember Ashraf Ismail - ACIV Director - saying that if he was to choose where the next AC should be, he would choose Ancient Egypt.

They're just releasing games every 6 months like idiots for the of it. The ing games are unoptimized, unfinished, unpolished products but it's all good, so long as Ubisoft gets their god damned pre-orders. I would request all gamers to not preorder this game and to see how it runs after releasing.

didn't they JUST learn the hard way not to give games a 1 year development schedule? Only Ubiosoft...

Its hard to get excited about a game which will probably be badly optimized and have ridiculus system requirements :/

Just hope it will be better than unity if it comes to the story! The storytelling in unity was awfull, i didnt know who i am outside the animus, boring plot develpment/ arch, ac has so much potential but they blew it imo! Miss desmond -.-
