Ubisoft has announced the latest in its series of indie-like homegrown projects following the success of Child of Light and Valiant Hearts - Grow Home. From Ubisoft’s England-based arm Reflections, Grow Home is a PC-exclusive experiential adventure climbing game. Players take control of a little robot called BUD (Botanical Utility Droid), who is sent on a mission to scour the universe for a new species of plant with which to oxygenate his homeworld.

In Grow Home players can grow and explore a giant organic star plant, reshaping the planet and creating their own landscape to explore mysterious floating islands. Grow Home makes unique use of climbing controls to make each ascent potentially perilous, with each analog stick on a gamepad taking direct control of an individual arm - one wrong move and it's curtains.

"Whether it's BUD's charming, procedurally generated animation, the awesome structure of the Star Plant players create or the beautiful landscapes, there is a peaceful, innocent vibe about Grow Home that makes the game utterly unique," says Pete Young, producer at Ubisoft Reflections.

Grow Home is out on February 4th exclusively on PC, with Ubisoft strangely making it available to download via Steam rather than its usual Uplay platform. Does this curious title from Ubisoft Reflections pique your interest? Are you a fan of Ubisoft's experimental asides? Let us know!
