NetherRealm has unleashed a new Mortal Kombat X trailer that is full to the rafters with new details on the content players will be able to get their hands on, including the dynamic single-player towers mode and a host of connected multiplayer experiences.

Integral to the multiplayer component is the new Faction Wars mode. In it, players will choose one of five factions to represent - Black Dragon, Lin Kuei, White Lotus, Special Forces, or the ‘Brotherhood of Shadows’. Picking one provides you with a persistent meta-game, with weekly, daily, and even hourly challenges to contribute to your chosen faction.

A new war will begin each and every week, and players within factions will be able to level up and climb ranks, unlocking faction-specific rewards to highlight their dominance. For one day each week, all of the factions will also be invaded by forces from other realms for 24 hours, and must work together to battle them off.

Mortal Kombat X is schedule to enter the ring on April 14th worldwide, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Will you be testing our your chops on Mortal Kombat X's Faction Wars mode?
