February’s been a bit of a tame month when it came to new releases. We were originally meant to be tucking in to Grand Theft Auto V for the entire month, but Rockstar’s insatiable appetite to delays means it’s now even further away than we thought.
Still, there’s been a number of other games bubbling away in the meantime, including the first episode of Resident Evil: Revelations 2, the Homeworld Remastered Collection, and of course Total War: Attila encouraging us gleefully back to war. There’s certainly plenty of gaming to be getting on with for the weekend ahead for everyone in the GD community…
Jon - I’ve finally got around to some Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. I’m only a couple of hours into my Tolkienian adventure but I can already feel it getting its hooks into me like an Uruk-hai wrestling control of a Caragor. Suffice to say it looks as if there’s absolutely stacks for me to do in Mordor, so that’ll no doubt do me for the majority of the weekend.
On the side I’m also working my way through Final Fantasy II. I think I’ve actually bumbled my way near to the end. It’s something about crystals and rescuing a princess and mumble mumble Final Fantasy mumble. I’m looking to crossing this one off the list and getting cracking with the third one, for some reason. My plan to work through every Final Fantasy sequentially started just over a year ago, so it would be fair to say it’s been slow progress but something keeps drawing me on.
Squee - I’ll be spending enjoyable father-son time playing Besiege with my five-year old. Watching him gleefully chucking bombs at castle walls with a spring-loaded bomb chucker, literally quaking with delight each and every time, is the start of a new chapter of gaming for me. And to be honest, anything that drags him away from Plants Vs Zombies for a few hours has to be a good thing...
Felix - Would you believe, I went and uninstalled Attila (merciless title and designed for a specific type of gameplay) and re-installed Rome 2 to see whats been improved, since its original damp squib launch. So hopefully I will find a quick 10 hours to get some gaming in on this monster title.
So, GDers, it’s over to you. Tell us what you’ll be playing this weekend in the comments below!
