Assassins Creed Rogue Graphics Settings And Min Max Graphics Comparison Screens

System Requirements Optimum 1080p PC Build Low vs Ultra Screenshots GPU Performance Chart CPU List That Meet System Requirements GPU List That Meet System Requirements

Assassin's Creed fans are getting spoiled rotten at the moment with a grand total of four AC titles hitting PC over the past 18 months. Assassin's Creed Rogue is the next in line, a port of the previously last-gen only outing which has players hopping over the other side of the fence, playing as Templar Shay Patrick Cormac hunting assassins.

It's out today on PC, and if you're worried what an up-rezzed PlayStation 3 port is going to look like then we've got a bunch of Assassin's Creed Rogue minimum and maximum settings comparison screens. For those looking to pick up Assassin's Creed Rogue then be sure to check out its system requirements page first for the latest updates, while below we've detailed all the AC: Rogue graphics settings you'll be able to tweak to optimise performance.

Assassin's Creed Rogue Graphics Settings Screen

Environment Quality - Normal / High / Very High

Texture Quality - Normal / High

Antialiasing Quality - Off / FXAA

Shadow Quality - Off / Normal / High / Very High

Anisotropic Filtering Quality - Off / 4x / 8x / 16x

Ocean Quality - Normal / High / Very High

Post Effects Quality - Normal / High

Motion Blur - Off / On

Ambient Occlusion - Off / SSAO / HBAO Low / HBAO High

God Rays - Off / On

Volumetric Fog - Off / On

Vsync - Off / On

There's the usual glut of options on offer here, and on our initial benchmarks tweaking everything from minimum to maximum caused between 45-30% drop in performance, so there's some significant frames per second gains to be had from AC: Rogue by tweaking the settings.

Ultimately Assassin's Creed Rogue is a last-gen console port though, so visually it's definitely hamstrung by this, as you can see from the screens below. It's by no means but it's nowhere near the fidelity of Assassin's Creed Unity, which could prove a benefit for the majority of PC gamers that don't hit those towering system requirements for AC Unity.

It's worth noting there's a soft frame rate cap of around 62 in AC: Rogue, so you're not really missing out on much by enabling vsync and it should help with the pesky screen tearing. Unfortunately AA settings are limited to just FXAA which can make everything look a little washed out, so your best bet there is making use of GPU software such as Nvidia's Control Panel.

Assassin's Creed Rogue Character Models Min

Assassin's Creed Rogue Character Models Max

Assassin's Creed Rogue Shadows Low

Assassin's Creed Rogue Shadows Very High

Assassin's Creed Rogue Terrain Detail Low

Assassin's Creed Rogue Terrain Detail Very High

Assassin's Creed Environmental Detail Minimum

Assassin's Creed Environmental Detail Maximum

Keep an eye out in the coming days for some extensive Assassin's Creed Rogue benchmarks, and make sure you head on over to the game page if you want to see how your rig should perform when playing AC: Rogue.

What do you make of Assassin's Creed Rogue's visuals? Are you expecting a better game than the much-derided AC Unity?

Other side of the coin is that other game makers (ubisoft montreal vs. ubisoft sofia) can really take the most out of it with as little effort as possible ,when comparing AC Unity(montreal) and AC Rogue(sofia)

My GTX 970 MSI gaming gives 63fps with or without my oc settings from afterburner (memory 8000mhz, core 1400mhz ,approx.) in rogue. Unity gave 37-43fps. I think it can only be those massive artificial intelligent crowds what makes this dividation, because I cannot see any other reason with my eyes.

It looks about as good as ACIII which I could max at 60FPS (apart from in Boston), so not too impressed :/

If you take a look at the right side of the nearest tree on the first 2 screenshots and then compare it to the trees in ACIII, that weird blockiness is present in both. The lighting engine from what I can see is also ACIIIs.

Not only good optimization, but good graphics settings. This could only mean that Victory might most probably inherit these good qualities. :D

don't forget that this is just a ps3/360 port. all the recent mess started with AC:BF and AC:U
I'm honest, I never had problems with Ubi before these last 2 titles (+ Watch Dogs).

PS3 port or not, the game has better graphics, but the same or maybe even better optimization for the PC. But yeah, never really had problems with the last two titles with this budget card, the higher framerate for Unity would've been nice, but it was more than playable.

First AC that actually has NO stuttering and frame drops.. It's amazing how well it runs on my rig with frisk constant 60 fps. Well done Ubi, you've made it, now keep up!

P.S.
Having vsync off, will result in screen tearing. Turning it on will fix the problem but not on all pc's!

Is it just me or do the graphics look really bad? Maybe I'm spoiled with Starcitizen and the like but it just looks ugly.

I think it's because this game is last Gen (360/PS3), probably why it's easier to run compared to this Gen Unity

i'll say that some textures and geometry are bad... but 95% still looks amazing.. and it doesnt go below 35FPS w/ AVG of 55 for my r9 270 OCed. compared to AC4 which doesnt go above 30FPS!! and this game is released 4-5 months after the first release!!! compared to other AC games that relase PC and console on the same date which lags like hell. so if they dont release it at the same date then???..

This game is maxed out on GTX 650 so those visuals are not bad considering what you need to run it...

according to what i've seen from this blog, I come to the conclusion that the old gen consoles are running the game at medium or even high or something in between, not very high for sure, but still they look similar, the console version has all the shadows and such and same level of character detail, except the hair. Well that's cool. :D

Surprisingly, Leaves and Trees in the background are more clearer and less blurry in Assassin's Creed Rogue Character Models Min Image than in Assassin's Creed Rogue Character Models Max Image.

Its probably due to Max is using FXAA

Max settings apply focus effects, so it's just a case of the background being purposefully blurred. I'd imagine it's a mixture of FXAA and post-effects quality, so turning one or both of those off should do the trick.

That's the Depth Of Field(DOF) effect. It comes under the post-effects quality setting as Jon mentioned.
