Focus Home Interactive's latest Sci Fi is being developed by Tindalos Interactive, whose previous title was Stellar Impact back in 2011. Etherium is a strategy totle set in another galaxy, where the player battles across 3 planets to secure the much sought after resource known as Etherium.

We were expecting Etherium to release in Summer 2014, but the release date has now been finalised for this week, 25th March. We've also got our hands on the Etherium launch trailer, so lets see if your PC meets the Etherium system requirements.

Etherium Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7 or Windows 8 and above
  • CPU: AMD/INTEL DUAL-CORE 2.4 GHZ
  • RAM: 4 GB DDR3 System Memory
  • GPU VRAM: 1GB
  • GPU: AMD HD 5850 or NVIDIA GTX 560 Or Better
  • HDD: 5 GB Free Hard Drive Space
  • DX: DirectX 9
  • NET: Internet connection required for Etherium activation and online gaming

The processor and memory requirements are both fairly standard low end minimum requirements. The graphics hardware is a fair bit higher for a minimum requirement. For those of us who download their games from digital distribution stores, the modest 5GB hard drive space is a welcome change compared to the normally massive hard drive requirements of other modern games.

Etherium was built using the Unity Engine and will be trying to deliver novelty through the application of subtle weather effects. To get you in the mood, take a look at the launch trailer below and dont forget to check your PC over on the Etherium system requirement tool page.

In terms of RTS depth, I think Halo Wars is a good entry into the genre, than to get a better grasp at how things work Supreme Commander 2 is a good step up.
