Ubisoft has announced it'll be launching Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China this very month; the second of five Assassin's Creed games coming to PC this year. One of three standalone entries in the the Assassin's Creed Chronicles series, China follows assassin Shao Jun, trained by the one and only Ezio Auditore.

She's returning to China during the end of the Ming dynasty, in 1526, and as the last surviving member of the Assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood, she's definitely got an axe to grind. Dropping the sprawling vistas and free-running escapades that have become a series mainstay, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China is a 2.5 action-platformer with beautiful painted visuals. Ubisoft being Ubisoft though, make sure you check out the official Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China system requirements before you pick it up on April 22nd.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 32-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz or AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8 GHz
  • RAM: 2 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 1024 MB
  • GPU: GeForce GTS 450 or Radeon HD 5770 1GB
  • HDD: 4GB available space
  • DX: DirectX 10
  • Additional: nVidia GeForce 347.52 or AMD Catalyst Omega 14.12 drivers.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-2105 3.1GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 1024 MB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 470 or AMD Radeon HD 5870 1GB

No, don't adjust your monitor these requirements are in fact real. It may be April Fools day but these system requirements for Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China are very much the real deal - You won't need a supercomputer like you would for Assassin's Creed Unity. You'll still need a pretty decent PC, sure, but AC Chronicles: China is nowhere near as face-meltingly demanding as previous titles in the series.

Low-end processors will suffice across the board for Assassin's Creed China, as well as a pretty minimal 2-4GB RAM requirement. The sticking point for some is going to be the OS; Vista won't cut it here, you'll need at least Windows 7 for Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China to run. Graphics card requirements also demand some relatively decent in the GTS 450 or the Radeon HD 5770, but anyone with a dedicated gaming rig should be equipped for this. Oh, and Ubisoft reminds users you're going to want the very latest drivers if you want the optimal performances.

Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China benchmark chart

I'm so lost with these series. I followed them normal from 1-4 and then it's like a road that's split into 100000 different little paths, each leading to some dumpsite.

I only hear about the bugs and major issues with these releases...

What the... How do you know it's unoptimized? It's not even been released yet! And if anything the requirements are LOW.

Still too high for a platformer :)

To Fakyra, hey, be more open minded, don't you know how much a platformer game can be pushed when it comes to grpahics, complexity, algorithms and such? That kind of Ubisoft bashing is getting old and sensless.

Yeah, even it's a platformer, i admit the graphics are quite beautiful. Still, it's too high. ACRogue has lower SysReq. This one is similiar to black flag's.

LOL A 2.5D PLATFORMER and it has requirements like it was a full on 3D game... Why am I surprised. It's Ubisoft.
Gameplay is on youtube btw.

This is laughable. Does the game come out every week or so. If this were COD some of you will have none of it.

The difference is that Call of Duty works on a 2 year development period by two developers (Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer and Treyarch). Ubisoft is just going crazy with Assassin's Creed, it's essentially becoming a milk fest.

Guys, calm your tits down, these requirements are for a 2D platformer (2.5D).

Looks pretty high for a platformer IMO.

They've learned how to optimize since Unity. Oh yeah, if it's well optimized as Rogue, my old C2D will run fine.

Maybe because Rogue was a PS3/XB360 and was no where near as demanding as Unity but other than that I'm not too sure

Until Ubisoft puts a multiplayer mode, or at least co-op, I'm not going consider this game. I think multiplayer would be pretty cool with the sword fights.
