PlayStation 4 owners might be busy pottering around the decrepit streets of Bloodborne’s Yharnam, but that doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t get in on some From Software action. Drangleic beckons in the Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin launch trailer, giving last year’s Souls game a bit of DirectX 11 spit and polish.

If you’re tempted to head back into Dark Souls 2’s world in Scholar of the First Sin you’d best be prepared for a few changes too. Enemy placement has been revamped, so you’ll never quite know what’s around the next corner, support for more online players concurrently, all season pass content, and brand new NPCs.

"With Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, our Dark Souls franchise jumps to the latest generation of consoles. With upgraded graphics, new enemy locations, new NPCs and other enhancements; this is the perfect time to get into the Dark Souls universe and experience the uniqueness and depth of this acclaimed series," said Herve Hoerdt, VP of IP Strategy at Bandai Namco.

Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the first Sin is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Previous-generation systems and PCs without DirectX 11-compatible graphics cards will only be able to play DX9 versions of Scholar of the First Sin, however.

Are you changes drastic enough to tempt you to double dip on Dark Souls 2?

I am so disappointed! The game has stuttering all the time. :( Frames drop from 60 to 57 even indoors at the blind sisters in the beginning of the game. Huge fan of the Souls Series. I hope there is a fix on this! I

I disabled also V-Sync but had the same problem plus the screen tearing. :( I play always with V-sync with much more demanding games and never had a problem like in DS2.. It fluctuates frames all the time. From 60-57. Any ideas?

I really don't understand what might be the issue.

Try reinstalling your display driver. I have mostly stable 60 frames on my card, and even if i drop to 57-58 i still don't feel it. No stuttering.

Yeah after playing all dlc in the dx9 version 20 dollars for minor things seems too much for me.

Just bought the game as soon as it shows up on Steam. The upgrade cost me roughly around 15$
