Dirt Rally System Requirements

Codemasters has sensationally not only announced the latest title in the Dirt series, but it's also released the game today. Dirt Rally is available to buy on PC right now via Early Access, and already comes packing 17 classic and current cars to race over 36 different stages from three locations around the world.

With Dirt Rally, Codemasters claims it wants to take rally driving to a new level of realism, totally rebuilding the simulation and driving models of the Dirt series, ensuring each and every car feels unique when the pedal's to the metal. You can check out the first ever gameplay video right now on the game page, and if you're picking it up then make sure to check out the official Dirt Rally system requirements below.

Dirt Rally Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows Vista 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5400+ 2.8 GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB System Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GT 430, Radeon HD 5450 1GB, or Intel HD 4000
  • GPU RAM: 1GB Video Memory
  • HDD: 35GB Available Space
  • DX: DirectX 11

Dirt Rally Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz or AMD FX-8150 3.6GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon R9 290

As you can see there is an absolutely humongous disparity between the minimum and recommended Dirt Rally system requirements. In fact, about as large as you can get for DirectX 11 hardware. This tells us that Codemasters has much Dirt extremely scalable, much like GRID Autosport, enabling users to set extremely low settings to play the game, but also giving higher-end graphics cards a workout when all the settings are cranked up.

With recommended requirements of a GTX 780 or a R9 290, Dirt Rally is clearly capable of being quite a looker. Without a point of reference it's difficult to tell what resolution this is targeted at, although we suspect this is for maxing Dirt Rally out at 1080p with every graphics setting.

Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the Dirt Rally System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Dirt Rally benchmark chart

If you want to quickly see how Dirt Rally will run on your PC then remember you can now take GD with you to check any website against any PC using our Chrome GD Anywhere Extension.

OMG!! A 2015 PC Game with Radeon HD 5450 as minimum requirement! It's not just a 2015 game; its one of the best racing simulation rally game ever made. Some says HD 5450 is a garbage card. But believe me: it runs every games; but on lowest possible settings (and some terrible FPS for modern games). But this one is a whole another level of optimization..! Well guys, believe this: Codemasters proves once again that they are the BEST GAME DEVELOPER in regards to optimization.

I think it's very fair, HD5450 is practically same as integrated Intel HD3000 which is what many people have in their laptops (SandyBridge Core-i series) :)

I wouldnt call it a sequel since the previous dirt games werent simulation oriented. its going to be different. I bet I am going to love it though.

You guys are aware this is meant to be a simulator? The developers say it is incredibly hard and is not like any other of the dirt series.

I expected higher minimum requirements... That fact that they put Core 2 Duo, Athlon 64 X2 series and Intel HD 4000 in minimum is surprising in an era where we regularly see i5s or Phenom II X4s along with GTX 470/570/660 or HD 5870/6970/7870 in minimum......

You got rather weak cpu tho Deadplayer. I recommend you to get Intel one, since AMD is far behind in single core performace, which matters in games :)

There's not really any relationship between genre and graphical demands. We're hoping to get hands on with it soon, but travelling at 160mph through dense woodland with graphical and weather effects could certainly be demanding.

Excited though, it feels like a return to Colin McRae-style racing :)

Thats a huge gap between a gt 430 and a r9 290. I hope this means its greatly optimized.
