Codemasters has sensationally not only announced the latest title in the Dirt series, but it's also released the game today. Dirt Rally is available to buy on PC right now via Early Access, and already comes packing 17 classic and current cars to race over 36 different stages from three locations around the world.
With Dirt Rally, Codemasters claims it wants to take rally driving to a new level of realism, totally rebuilding the simulation and driving models of the Dirt series, ensuring each and every car feels unique when the pedal's to the metal. You can check out the first ever gameplay video right now on the game page, and if you're picking it up then make sure to check out the official Dirt Rally system requirements below.
Dirt Rally Minimum System Requirements
- OS: Windows Vista 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5400+ 2.8 GHz
- RAM: 4 GB System Memory
- GPU: GeForce GT 430, Radeon HD 5450 1GB, or Intel HD 4000
- GPU RAM: 1GB Video Memory
- HDD: 35GB Available Space
- DX: DirectX 11
Dirt Rally Recommended System Requirements
- OS: Windows 7 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz or AMD FX-8150 3.6GHz
- RAM: 8 GB System Memory
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon R9 290
As you can see there is an absolutely humongous disparity between the minimum and recommended Dirt Rally system requirements. In fact, about as large as you can get for DirectX 11 hardware. This tells us that Codemasters has much Dirt extremely scalable, much like GRID Autosport, enabling users to set extremely low settings to play the game, but also giving higher-end graphics cards a workout when all the settings are cranked up.
With recommended requirements of a GTX 780 or a R9 290, Dirt Rally is clearly capable of being quite a looker. Without a point of reference it's difficult to tell what resolution this is targeted at, although we suspect this is for maxing Dirt Rally out at 1080p with every graphics setting.
Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the Dirt Rally System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Dirt Rally benchmark chart.
If you want to quickly see how Dirt Rally will run on your PC then remember you can now take GD with you to check any website against any PC using our Chrome GD Anywhere Extension.

I can play at a resolution of 1600x900 with my configuration and a 8800 GTS 640MB instead of the hof?
PC Specs
I dont think so dude.... Time to change your Graphics card :)
PC Specs
Rallying was the only reason I bought the Dirt games, so hopefully it's something like the old colin mcrae rally games ?
PC Specs
yep thats what it is according to the devs. with controls closer to a simulator game.
PC Specs
to be honest I'd love to see something more like DiRT:Showdown, rally is just boring :P
PC Specs
How about buying Dirt: Showdown xD
We should play sometime!
PC Specs
eh I haven't this game installed right now, actually I have only 3 games installed right now: Age Of Empires III, GTA:V and The Witcher (1) :P
PC Specs
That's ok, I have exams at the moment so I can't play either.
PC Specs
oh I almost forgot, biggest problem is I swapped out my GTX770 coz testing PCIex audio interface :))
PC Specs
How about Wreckfest?
PC Specs
early access? how'bout no :P
PC Specs
Its very promising, so eventually how bout yes.
PC Specs
perhaps I'll check it out then :))

OMG!! A 2015 PC Game with Radeon HD 5450 as minimum requirement! It's not just a 2015 game; its one of the best racing simulation rally game ever made. Some says HD 5450 is a garbage card. But believe me: it runs every games; but on lowest possible settings (and some terrible FPS for modern games). But this one is a whole another level of optimization..! Well guys, believe this: Codemasters proves once again that they are the BEST GAME DEVELOPER in regards to optimization.
PC Specs
its true, their games run great.
PC Specs
I think it's very fair, HD5450 is practically same as integrated Intel HD3000 which is what many people have in their laptops (SandyBridge Core-i series) :)
PC Specs
me...my intel hd graphics 3000 0% in minimum req :P
PC Specs
wow! a new diry game?? and a simulator-ish at that?? i cant wait to play this! the requirements look excellent. I love challenging racing games. oh and i stupid as it sounds i hope there is third person camera :P.
PC Specs
Is it actually DiRT 4? I mean the sequel or not?
PC Specs
I wouldnt call it a sequel since the previous dirt games werent simulation oriented. its going to be different. I bet I am going to love it though.
PC Specs
You guys are aware this is meant to be a simulator? The developers say it is incredibly hard and is not like any other of the dirt series.
PC Specs
I expected higher minimum requirements... That fact that they put Core 2 Duo, Athlon 64 X2 series and Intel HD 4000 in minimum is surprising in an era where we regularly see i5s or Phenom II X4s along with GTX 470/570/660 or HD 5870/6970/7870 in minimum......
PC Specs
Well, yup's, but im out of this one :( Sadly a beast for a DX10 but still, i can't afford a card now, but soon changing to a Asus GTX 560TI OC Accelero xTreme version ^_^
PC Specs
Upsurge, that might just mean it has good optimisation. But we will see.
PC Specs
I can play it... :)
PC Specs
You can play ANYTHING damn it... ANYTHING...!!!
PC Specs
HAHA thanks m8 :) I meant 4K and yeah finally a game that I can play in my resolution at 60fps :)
PC Specs
I know... I'm just messing with people that can't. :D
PC Specs
C'mon man there's so many guys like me which have weak rigs in GD! So, let the people like 'Us' ask which game runs or not. BTW If you wanna ask, then please wait for at least 5 years :P
PC Specs
Haha I know, just being mean :P I never asked, I said I can play it. I meant yaayy I can finally play a game in 4K at 60fps. :) I can't play everything at 4K, there are some games that are more demanding than what I have at 4K. :)
PC Specs
Yup, you're so lucky! Jealous on ya :D
PC Specs
You got rather weak cpu tho Deadplayer. I recommend you to get Intel one, since AMD is far behind in single core performace, which matters in games :)
PC Specs
yes true !!!!
PC Specs
Now these requirements are what I want to see! The ABSOLUTE minimum requirements necessary to be able to play. We need more of THIS!
PC Specs
You mean, logical system requirements that make some damn sense...
PC Specs
Those are some mammoth differences in the minimum and recommended specs... Scalability must be through the roof...
PC Specs
Finally a game, where R9 290 has the same performance as GTX 780
PC Specs
Dream on..
PC Specs
The r9 290 actually performs better than the gtx780 in many... many games and it is that powerful
PC Specs
The 270X even beats the GTX 760 in many games ;)
PC Specs
I think they should fix dirt 3 first
PC Specs
What's wrong with Dirt 3?
PC Specs
Lol, I just checked now, they did fix it. GFWL was required to run it but the complete edition is out now. My first comment was invalid.
PC Specs
Lol okay.
PC Specs
I find it hard to believe a racing game requires this much PC horsepower.
PC Specs
Not really, the minimum req is sooo low.
PC Specs
I meant for maxed settings.
PC Specs
Well, it isn't something new.. Most of new games require 770/780/R9 290/R9 290X kinda card to max it :/
PC Specs
Agree with Encorporeus...recommend req is too high for this game...but maybe for 4k res?
PC Specs
There's not really any relationship between genre and graphical demands. We're hoping to get hands on with it soon, but travelling at 160mph through dense woodland with graphical and weather effects could certainly be demanding.
Excited though, it feels like a return to Colin McRae-style racing :)
PC Specs
yeah
PC Specs
or it means , loudly 4K for recommended pc
PC Specs
Thats a huge gap between a gt 430 and a r9 290. I hope this means its greatly optimized.
PC Specs
All of their previous racing games have been really well optimized :)
PC Specs
I don't see the gap as a problem. I'd love every game to have low minimums and high recommended, it shows they're actually utilising the hardware properly.
PC Specs
Could it be for 4K res?
PC Specs
Maybe, I'll hopefully get a look at it later today on the 750 Ti, if so I'll post benchmarks tomorrow.
