It was only going to be a matter of time, but Lego has finally got in on the Minecraft action. What goes around, comes around, and the brick-building mayhem that inspired Minecraft is getting its own digital sandbox in the shape of Lego Worlds. It's out now on Steam Early Access and riding high in the charts, offering up limitless potential for creativity with its powerful toolset.

Players can shape the terrain in an instant or build creations down to the finest detail, brick-by-brick, all set within vast procedurally generated worlds. Lego Worlds is an infinitely cheaper proposition than picking up those real Lego sets, but before you do, make sure you check out the official Lego Worlds system requirements.

Lego Worlds Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows XP 32-bit Service Pack 3
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 2.0 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+ 2.6 GHz
  • RAM: 2 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 512MB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GT 240 or Radeon HD 5570
  • HDD: 10GB Available Space
  • DX: DirectX 10

Lego Worlds Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 40 3.0GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB System Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 480 or AMD Radeon HD 5850
  • DX: DirectX 11

As you'd expect from a Lego game, the minimum system requirements are right down at the low end. Both of those graphics cards are outclasses by integrated graphics these days, and those old dual-core processors are certainly a bit long in the tooth.  Ultimately Lego Worlds looks like a game that could be laptop friendly and will run on the majority of systems at low settings with the bare minimum of graphics hardware.

The recommended requirements for Lego Worlds are obviously a fair leap up, but there's nothing to cause untoward worry here. Ultimately Lego Worlds' performance is going to be impacted by the scale of your creations. If your massive builds prove a little too demanding for your hardware and it begins to chug, you might be best off building smaller environments. The same can be said of its forebear, Minecraft, which is extremely undemanding but can be really pushed with a few graphics mods and massive builds.

Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the Lego Worlds System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Lego Worlds benchmark chart

I saw this game on steam yesterday. My inner child squealed with excitement. I'm really tempted to buy it, but I'm really wanting to wait until it has multiplayer. Unless they add the Jurassic Park theme to it, then I'm sold

"Both of those graphics cards are outclasses by integrated graphics these days"

Ehhhh not really. From Intel, only the Iris series comes close and that is just on par with the cards.

The only integrated that would really out class those GPUs is the top tier 7800/7850/7870 a10 stuff from AMDs APUs. I don't think they like them being refereed to as integrated either.

The system reqs don't make sense. You would think it requires more CPU then GPU.But i am excited to see how this fares against Minecraft.

I'm a fan of the LEGO games, (I know, imagine that) and I personality think this is a really cool idea.

So LEGO World is basically meant to be a competitor for Minecraft. Detail LEGO blocks would be nice.

The game renders every single block of lego. And i mean every single one. You can even see the underside of them and see how many of them there actualy is

Very correct buddy, I'm currently playing the game and it feels so crazy to look at a world made of LEGO blocks and each rendered singly
