Cranium-stretching first-person puzzle game The Talos Principle is set to get a full-blown expansion pack. The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna is launching later this month, Croteam has announced, adding four new chapters of hair-wrenching conundrums for philosophical puzzle fans. The original game was, by all accounts, ace, and Road to Gehenna is looking to deliver more of what everyone loved.

If the original game stumped you then here’s a fair warning - Road to Gehenna will feature "some of the most advanced and challenging puzzles yet." Players will be stepping into the shoes of Uriel, the omniscient overseer Elohim’s messenger, working to free trapped souls. It’s sure to be all sorts of mind-bending, and we’ve got some of the first screens.

This has all served to remind me I need to get around to the original game. Mukul Gupta reviewed it back in December, saying “it's bizarre that the same team who brought us something like Serious Sam could deliver something so cerebral and philosophical, but what the team has achieved here is the ultimate collection of logical conundrums.

The Talos Principle: Road To Gehenna is out on July 23rd on PC, with a PlayStation 4 version arriving later in the year.
