Euro Truck Simulator 2 was one of the surprise breakout hits of the simulation genre. It seems we can't just resist turning on the radio, winding the window down, and getting down to some trucking. However, nowhere is quite so synonymous with long-distance trucking as the good ol' US of A. Enter stage left - American Truck Simulator 2015.
ATS 2015 promises to be everything you loved about Euro Truck Sim, but cruising across the vast expanse of North America. Route 66, Big Sur, East Coast, West Coast; you name it, you can carry heavy goods on it via an articulated lorry. Dodgy diners and copious amounts of coffee sadly not included. If you want to get stuck into the VR dream come true, then make sure your big rig's up to the job with the American Truck Simulator 2015 system requirements.
American Truck Simulator 2015 Minimum System Requirements
- OS: Windows 7 32-bit
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ 2.4 GHz
- RAM: 4GB System Memory
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 or AMD Radeon HD 6770
- HDD: 3GB Free Hard Drive Space
American Truck Simulator 2015 Recommended System Requirements
- OS: Windows 8 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz
- RAM: 6 GB System Memory
- GPU RAM: 2048 MB Graphics Memory
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R9 280
- DX: DirectX 11
Now, first things first, SCS Software claim these requirements are subject to change as we get nearer the date. However, this set of requirements looks to be pretty much in line with what we'd expect, so they're unlikely to alter much. American Truck Simulator 2015 is a visual leap up from its predecessor, so we're seeing what were once the recommended requirements become the minimum. This would normally be cause for concern, but ETS2 is now three years old, so it's little surprise.
The GTS 450 and the Radeon HD 6770 are both several generations old and mid-tier at the time of release, so most gaming systems should be more than capable of performing here. The same applies to the processors, whiich are the best part of a decade old by now. You will see a doubling of the memory requirements, so make sure you're kitted out with 4GB, but installing more really isn't a very expensive or complicated upgrade.
The recommended requirements for American Truck Sim 2015 are likewise not too worrying. A semi-decent modern gaming system should breeze through this, and there's bound to be plenty of options to tweak like its predecessor if you want to squeeze out an extra few frames.
One area of worry is VR. While not coming with native VR support, American Truck Sim 2015 will no doubt get it quickly. To prevent motion sickness you're going to want an extremely high frame rate, so you could do with a rig above and beyond the ATS 2015 recommended system requirements.
Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the American Truck Simulator 2015 System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. I hope that it is better optimized than ets2, since one of the last updates which improved the graphics, I can't play it anymore (not even on the lowest possible settings). I'll buy a new pc anyway, but at least I hope it will run smooth then
PC Specs
it tanked that bad? ouch. I know the last update I had played it in was after the Going East expansion, and I didn't have to change settings at all (was still hitting high with -30 FPS)
PC Specs
it is very weird you can't play it, i can with my old laptop, which is way worse than your pc :S
PC Specs
It is because my gpu has a really limited bandwidth. It runs through a PCIe x1 slot to a mPCIe slot in my laptop (at PCIe Gen v1.1)
PC Specs
Can't wait to be able to go down Route 66 and drive through Chicago.
PC Specs
After playing ETS 2 on Triple monitors for more than 270 hours, can't wait to get my hands on this one... :)
PC Specs
I should run it on almoust max settings no ?
PC Specs
click 'Can I Run It', if you have a game-debate profile with your computer's system info than it'll tell you
PC Specs
did it nothing happened
PC Specs
if the requirements stay the same, you can run it on high settings :)
PC Specs
processors, whiich are the
you spelled which with 2 iis
PC Specs
Is this in America only? You can't drive worldwide like in Euro Truck Simulator 2?
PC Specs
Euro Truck you could only drive in EUROPE...including the UK.
so to answer your question, yes you only drive around parts of America, presumably as in just the US.
PC Specs
Thank's m8, I guess I'll go for Euro truck then and the games are parallel to each other so they're the same game. :)
PC Specs
More or less, ATS has an upgraded graphics engine, and American trucks and roads, I am American but don't get to travel so I wanna play it, and I've played a little of ETS2, so it'll be good too. Get what you wish though, ETS is exceptional though, and I know ATS will too.
PC Specs
This one could be of the best game for the Oculus Rift.
PC Specs
Can i run it? I Think I can run it on medium settings due to my lower screen res. Can I? Please tell me. Thanks.
PC Specs
Yes you should be able to run it at medium but you really need to upgrade your RAM bro
PC Specs
I think I can max it, I hope so.
PC Specs
yeah sure you can, but not on 4K, 1080p/1440p would be better :)
PC Specs
Thank's, btw I played ETS2 on 4K completely maxed even AA got 55+ fpd. :)
PC Specs
I know I can hit ETS2 with mostly high settings, I think I have..like 2, things dropped to medium, and no Vsync or AA of course, so I'm hoping I can play this on low-medium.
PC Specs
i am afraid you might not be able to run it, your gpu is far below the minimum. but because of your res you have a very small chance on the lowest setting :)
PC Specs
like I said, I ran ETS2 on high settings, 30 FPS on average, maybe higher, and no frame drops :p it had absolutely incredible optimization. GD's adjusted requirements for ATS are the same as ETS2, and ATS's minimum is a bit higher than ETS2's maximum. So I'm remaining hopeful :)
PC Specs
What's with this " ? This is exclusive content for members only"
I mostly share news on Facebook .
So GD can get more views . But looks like I can't anymore
PC Specs
"Exclusive content for members only" is a small incentive for people who use the site but haven't yet made a FREE account, it won't affect any current members of the site in anyway and you can STILL share the article via social media :)
PC Specs
I don't think we can create a free account anymore . + Even if a guests will visit website still ads will be displayed on home screen that means more money for gd .that's why I share almost every news of gd in 4-5 groups of Facebook
PC Specs
I can assure you, GD is absolutely free to register and make an account and sharing the news articles hasn't changed, I do it myself at no cost to anyone :)
PC Specs
Is this game addictive?
Because I got addicted to some simulation game called Cities: Skylines
PC Specs
Depends if you like this kind of stuff. IMO ETS2 is very addictive, especially with a good steering wheel.
PC Specs
And the right music to go along with it, I find it a good way to just chill out
PC Specs
Is there heavy metal music in it?
Something like Maiden, or Megadeth.
PC Specs
Jovince92 you can put your favorite music in the music folder of the game and listen to your favorite tunes or there is a internet radio option in-game
PC Specs
I just noticed that the title is wrong. The game name is 'AmericaN Truck Simulator', not 'America Truck Simulator' as stated in the title lol
PC Specs
Eeep, fixed now!
PC Specs
I honestly don't think this game warrants a GTX 760 or R9 280 for max at 1080p... As I recall, GTX 750 ti could max Metro: Last Light at 1080p with playable frame rates... I doubt this game would be too demanding...
PC Specs
But a 750ti could not max Metro. Not even my two old 760 in sli could do it. But I agree with the other stuff you wrote.
PC Specs
My 750 ti cant max Metro last light even at my resolution xD
PC Specs
so what is the content of this kind of games? i drive a truck for hours and then ? always thought this was for training purposes not enjoyment( well not that it does not make any fun)
PC Specs
I find them very fun tbh. Driving around, enjoying the landscape :)
PC Specs
I was like you. At first I thought, really? Driving a truck sounds boring. But I gave ETS2 a try, and I fell in love with it. Something about driving a truck from one place to another is just satisfying. Its also very peaceful and relaxing.
PC Specs
Brandini is correct. Just give it a try
PC Specs
Ez at 768p xd
