Yesterday CD Projekt RED announced a New Game+ mode for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Now it’s detailed what the mode actually entails for long time players. So if your 200-hour quest wasn’t enough to sate your appetite for adventure, you’ll find plenty more to devour here.

CDPR community manager Marcin Momot spilled the beans, explaining how New Game+ will work in The Witcher 3. It will of course require that you’ve completed The Witcher 3 at least once, but it will start you out on a brand new playthrough. You’ll be retaining all of the items, alchemy recipes and experience you accrued from your first playthrough. If you hadn’t reached level 30 yet, you’ll be bumped up to this for New Game +.

That means all of the enemies have received a level rise, so you’ll be up against level 30+ beasts from the off. This means players will be able to further unlock Geralt’s vast skill tree, and even begin specialising in previously unexplored branches. If you want to start afresh, you even get a Clearing Potion so you can reset your skills and create a brand new character build.

While plenty carries over, not everything does, unfortunately. Chief among these are your hard-earned Gwent cards. These won’t make the cut, so you’ll have to earn your deck all over again. Likewise with books, letters and quest items, the latter of which would presumably bork the game entirely.

Will you be braving a second playthrough of The Witcher 3? Or have you had your fill?
