While console gamers sit around ploughing thousands of hours into Monster Hunter and its ilk, we’re typically given short shrift on the hunting genre over on PC. In spite of that, in recent months we’re seeing a bit of a shift. Publishers like Koei Tecmo are waking up and seeing sense, with games like Toukiden Kiwami making it over. These are console games first and foremost, but they’re often undiscovered gems hidden deep in Steam’s hectic release schedule.

Here we’ve got GameMuze giving us a complete rundown in his Toukiden Kiwami PC Port Report and performance benchmarks. He’s taking a new approach to videos here on GD, specialising in the quality of PC game ports first and foremost. You’re going to want to give it a watch before picking up Toukiden as well, because it’s not cheap. Toukiden: Kiwami is retailing on Steam for a whopping £49.99 / $59.99 / € 59.99.

If you’re not familiar with Toukiden: Kiwami, it’s a hunting action game originally released for the PS Vita. It’s since made the jump to the PlayStation 4 with updated visuals, and that’s the port we’ve got on PC. Players take on the role of a Slayer, who must battle 300 increasingly giant beasts, capturing their trapped spirits. It had a great reception on console, but not all ports are created equal.

GameMuze is running all this on a GeForce GTX 980 with an Intel Core i7-3770K and a whopping 32GB RAM. Get the popcorn ready, relax, and enjoy.

Keep your eyes on GameMuze for more PC port reports.

There are 2 things Dev needs to be taken care of if they want to port the game to PC. First is the control (because it takes a lot of effort to change the control from gamepad to KB+mouse), and the last is the optimisation. It would be better NOT to released the game on PC if they failed to do both.

Ummmm, it's already been ported, you can buy and play it on Steam right now, and according to the reviews, it's definitely poorly optimized....... personally I wouldn't care so much about good keyboard/mouse controls on any console port, because we can use a gamepad just as easily, feel sorry for console people who have to play FPS and open world games with a gamepad though! XD

I know, i read the reviews about both the kb+mouse control and the optimisation. That's why i posted my opinion above about porting.

Noticed it too, not a lot of exclusive content anymore (which is good - we should get to choose what to play on and can play ANYTHING!)

A bit late to make port review for this game as TotalBiscuit tore that game a new one on June 26, 2015

Hey bro, I disagree, the purpose of GD is to give people a place to discuss interesting points to do with hardware and gaming and that is exactly what is being done here.
It would be a strange internet if there was only one perspective given on any one topic. I for one have not personally watched this CompleteBiscuit reports ;) where as I have enjoyed the in depth info provided by GameMuze's gameplay video.
So my real point here is, everyone should keep creating content, in their particular style, to help encourage fun conversation on GD from all angles.
However, thanks for sharing the view buddy, it is still good to hear external viewpoints, but I certainly would have preferred to hear your own thoughts on the game rather than someone elses.

True. Most of the time the reviewers have different opinions on games and movies, so the only way to do it is to try yourself. Some people hated Terminator Genisys, me and my gf and friends all LOVED it. Go figure, right? :)
So really, I too would not pay much attention to the reviewers. Although I have to say, I've got Toukiden on my PS Vita and I can't really play it....the reason is that I'm so much into Monster Hunter that Toukiden is totally in MH's shadow...

This is a pretty good PSV game. Don't know anything about the PC port though, didn't bother to try since I already have the Vita version.

Well, we are getting Monster Hunter Online, it's already been through 4 beta phases in China, and due for the next soon.... I think the game will probably go full release in China by the start of 2016, but don't quote me on that.
