Ubisoft has published a new gameplay demo of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, demonstrating a full assassination mission with Evie Fry. The eight-minute demo takes us through all the different approaches that can be taken for assignments, making use of Evie’s varied stealth-based toolset.

Evie has her own story, skill tree, and unique abilities, much of it focused on remaining out of sight. On the basis of this demo it adds some much needed subtlety to Assassin’s Creed’s usual brute force approach. Arriving via a boat on the Thames, Evie’s tasked with breaking into the Tower of London for this Black Box mission kill.

Black Box missions are like a few of the assassination missions which cropped up in Assassin’s Creed Unity. Players are given a number of methods to approach a kill, including unique kills, entry spots, and additional objectives. This was best utilised in the first assassination in Unity, for the Notre Dame kill, but it subsequently tailed off and became far more linear later in the game.

Perhaps the most promising thing from the offset is Evie’s bonus objective of killing less than five guards. As far as I’m aware, Assassin’s Creed has never rewarded us for not killing. This indicates a possible shift toward actual stealth, rather than the Terminator-esque killing machines previous assassins have been.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is out on October 23rd for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and tentatively scheduled for Q4 2015 on PC.

This series is getting too burned out. This is actually the firs time i have ZERO interest towards upcoming AC game. I just wish they would give a year or two break for this franchise. Maybe then it would feel fresh again.

Me too man this is the first AC where I have absolutely no interest and Im generally a AC nut. They should really give a gap cause we really are starting to lose interest.

Storyline has a lot of potencial to be good, but the problem is ACU's glitchy gameplay. weird and stupid AI movements. And I'm really curious why don't they simply delay every version of the game until everything's ready for the launch so everyone gets to play it at the same time? That would kinda eliminate those "PC MasterWait, Console 30FPS Peasants" jokes.

True, no matter how broken the game is, they need money, the faster the better.

You may be waiting for a while yet, and even if they do release one, ubi is not what they used to be when they released the sands of time trilogy, so don't expect the same quality. We might just end up with an AC clone.

I'm waiting for a PoP game as well, no doubt about it it's my favorite Ubisoft/Konami game and one of my favorite games of all time, though I like to have more AC games as well, but at least let the dev cycle be 2 years per game, so that they have more time to polish the game(not only the optimization), the AC games apart from optimization are amazing IMO.

It's 2015 and still we are watching gameplays on console instead of pc... But still the trailer was good. Am I the only one thinking that they're making this game easier and easier?

Chameleon ? Damn AC series, more and more technologically improved in 1800's like it's a Crysis game lol. And even that electro-bombs or whatever :/. Well it's not bad i mean more options for the assassin but still.. Taking all in account it won't be optimized aswell like the previous one i can see that coming :(
