The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s final piece of free downloadable content, New Game + mode, has gone live. So if you’ve come to the end of CD Projekt RED’s immense adventure, it’s the perfect time to grab your silver sword and head right back in again.
The New Game + mode is live on Xbox One right now, with the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the update rolling out imminently. The game mode is designed for players who’ve already completed The Witcher 3 at least once, and starts the player off at a minimum of level 30, with all skill points intact. Enemies have scaled with you, so it’s going to a much harsher playthrough, offset by allowing you to well and truly pack out your skill trees.
Experience, items, money and alchemy recipes will all roll over, while quest items, books, letters, usables, trophies and Gwent cards will be left behind. The likely reason is this messes with progression in some wayt.
Now this final piece of DLC is here, the book’s closed on The Witcher 3 until the two expansion packs arrive. The first of these, Heart of Stone, is due out in October 2015, while Blood and Wine is expected in early 2016. Each promises to add tens of hours of new content to The Witcher III.
The New Game + DLC will be available to download from your chosen storefront free of charge.
