Rockstar has just announced that Grand Theft Auto V’s video editor, which launched alongside the PC port earlier this year, will be arriving on consoles as part of an update in September. That’s not all either, because the PC version of GTA 5’s video editor will also be getting a bunch of updates to ensure it’s better than ever.

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a Francis Ford Coppola, Rockstar is adding a new ambient audio and sound effects library, Snapmatic integration, director mode updates, new fonts for titles and credits, and the ability to copy and paste marker properties for swifter editing.

The ambient audio and sound effects library will allow users to select from a collection of tracks to add background noise and effects to scenes, which can be used in conjunction with voiceovers and music traps.

Snapmatic integration will allow users to export any still frame from a video as a marker point for Snapmatic, so you can head straight back in and begin filming from that precise camera angle. This is joined by director mode updates such as the ability to freeze time of day settings, present an enlarged minimap, and the new ability to spawn air and water vehicles at any time.

The Grand Theft Auto 5 director’s mode update will be arriving some time in September.
