This had an air of inevitability about it, but Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will feature history’s most iconic serial killer - Jack the Ripper. His identity still remains a mystery to this very day, but he stalked the streets of Whitechapel during an Autumn of terror in 1888. The catch? The Jack the Ripper story campaign is coming as DLC of course.

Yep, the most exciting story from Victorian London will be add-on content, so you’ll have to pick up the DLC or grab the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate season pass, which bundles all the DLC together. The Jack the Ripper DLC has the player teaming up with Inspector Frederick Abberline of Scotland Yard in an effort to hunt down the infamous murderer. Little does Abberline know he’s working with a far, far more dangerous man.

History buffs will be aware Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is set in 1868 during the Industrial Revolution, while little Jack was still in nappies. The DLC will instead be a mini campaign set 20 years after the events of the main game.

Elsewhere the AC: Syndicate Season Pass comes loaded with The Last Maharaja mission pack, with ten additional missions based around Duleep Singh, who’s attempting to reclaiming his birthright as the Maharaja, or great king. Then there’s the Long Night exclusive mission, Streets of London gameplay pack, two top-tier sets of gear and weapons and an exclusive experience boost.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is coming out of the shadows on October 23rd for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, before arriving a month later on November 19th for PC.

I saw that one coming from miles away. But I did hope it would be a part of the main game. Then again it's Ubisoft, so...

Aren't DLC's meant to be expansion packs, not parts of the game cut out for more money?

this sounds very interesting, it sucks it's gonna be DLC though. It should be expected, being Ubisoft. I still am really hyped for Syndicate, like I always am when a new AC comes out (and they have yet to fail me, even Unity), but, yeah, these practices suck, which is why I never buy AC DLC. if people don't buy the season passes or DLC it will leave a message.

We'll reach a point where they're going to sell an empty folder for $60 and then the game files as DLC.. Oh God, I hope I'm not giving them ideas! :|

It's starting to f*** me off that companies are reveling DLCs before the game is out...the game is probably going to be horribly optimised and they should focus on making a playable game before spamming out crap. It really grinds my gears.
I hope Ubisoft makes me eat my words but I'm not holding my breath...

except Bethesda's games are buggy, not badly optimized..Skyrim's playable on medium settings like GD says, with mods, on my PC. if it was badly optimized I couldn't do that. it's mostly just bugs, which get ironed out eventually.
